Love this flavor text:

I think I'm almost to the point where I can make a deck of nothing but 3/1 vanilla creatures.....

I really want to see this art in foil....

Is this our first Red bear? I'm both forgetful and too lazy to look it up...

Defiant Khenra. However, Falkenrath Reaver was the first red vanilla bear. We've also got a wide assortment of red bear+ options (2/2s for :1::r: with an upside)

Falkenrath Reaver was the first red bear. Then we got Defiant Khenra, then Swab Goblin and now Feral Maaka.

Destroy target land + scry 2 for 4 mana is great. Also I like the Kindle that makes goblin tokens

There's a fair few mill cards in this non dimir set

What's with the "power 4 or greater" theme in Jund colors? Is this further evidence of a possible return to Alara?

Reach is still in red but prowess is not. This means red and green have three evergreen mechanics in common and red and blue have none

This set really has done a HUGE job at making some awesome art.
On average, it looks better than it has in probably a decade.

I don't like this set that much.
Azorius mechanic met the fate of the Golgari one - used too carefully and too sparingly. Azorius as a guild looks indecisive - like it's stuck between control, tempo, and midrange.
Simic turned out decidedly uncreative - not because of Adapt itself, but because of it's poor execution and lack of Simic-like support.
Orzhov is now entirely different from the original, trading lifegain for sacrifice. Which is fine, but drain fits their flavor of their economic domination more. Really needs a Bloodflow Connoisseur or a Fallen Angel or something to work, but we got none of that.
Gruul looks just good enough. I like Riot, though less than Bloodrush or Bloodthirst. They've got some really decent power, though only Domri and Hellkite seem overwhelming on their own.
Rakdos was suicidal aggro, now it's just aggro, which, I think, is disappointing. They've got a LOT of powerful cards.

I'm really holding out for a tier 2 guildgate deck. Gatebreaker Ram, Guild Summit, Gates Ablaze... in a dedicated deck - nothing to sneeze at. I don't know why the best payoffs are 3-drops, though, and that definitely won't help.
