I mean, I even informed you guys that jac was not going to die at the end of the last day to incentivize you to vote him, you can't say I wasn't trying to help.

A column of flame erupts around Rubik. As the fire burns he finds himself wondering... "How?"
Just how was it possible? The Designer in Zinger thought he had planned a perfect game, one he most assuredly couldn't lose, but there's one thing he didn't count on... That the Player in him would take control of the advantages he'd planned to use himself.
And as the life burned out of the last remaining Town-Aligned player, it became all too clear. The Designer can't exist without the Player.
The game is over! The Mafia has won!
Winning players: Just_a_cleric, Silly, JayDreven, and Hello World.

WELCOME TO ZINGER MAFIA
You will be playing Hobgoblin Lives: A Spider-Man Mafia 2. You are a member of the Town. Throughout the game, you will have access to The Hobgoblin account [Username: The Hobgoblin; Password: **********], with which you are able to post in the game thread at any time, as long as you are in the Living player pool. You can also cast a bonus vote using The Hobgoblin account, which can't be traced back to you.
At Night you can do one of two things: 1) throw a Pumpkin Bomb at a player, killing them if they are unprotected, or, 2) use your brainwashing device to force a player to vote another player during the following Day. Regardless of which option you pick, you may also create a mock "Daily Bugle Newspaper" which will be included in the opening post of the following Day. Exactly how you choose to make use of your newspaper is, frankly, up to you.

ZINGER MAFIA ROLE
Congrats! You are Maximum Carnage: A Spider-Man Mafia! You are Town-Aligned. No, that is not a typo. At the beginning of the game, you will be identified as Carnage, the big bad! Whoops. You also don't get a vote, instead, you have a Daykill, which you activate by posting in the thread "Daykill: Player" or "Murder: Player" or "Rip: Player to shreds" or "Eat: Player's Brain" or something to that effect. Your intent needs to be clear, in Bold, and contain both a colon and player's name to work. Caution: your Daykill will end the Day.
You can post in the thread at any time, Day or Night, but you must use the colour RED in each of your posts. At Night you can choose to protect yourself, but if you do, Spider-Man is Roleblocked that Night! Whoops.
Quote:
You are Mafia: The Gathering - You Pick the Role Edition!
Alignment:Town Ability (Day Use, 1 Shot): Pick a Magic: The Gathering card other than Scrambleverse that you have not already picked with this ability. You will gain a new 1 Shot ability to use at Night that is based on your chosen Magic card. This ability recharges at the beginning of each Day.
HOME CIRCLE: ALL The first circle of Hell (Limbo), confers no benefit or drawback. While in the second circle of Hell (Lust), only votes for No Lynch will count. While in the third circle of Hell (Gluttony), gain a +1 to your Lynch Threshold. While in the fourth circle of Hell (Greed), votes are worth 50% more than their original value. While in the fifth circle of Hell (Anger), votes made against someone who is already voting you are doubled in strength. While in the sixth circle of Hell (Heresy), whenever you vote for another player, you also accrue a ghost vote against yourself. While in the seventh circle of Hell (Violence), gain an extra vote which can't be used against the same player as your regular vote(s). While in the eighth circle of Hell (Fraud), votes are worth 50% less than their original value. While in the ninth circle of Hell (Treachery), you may make hidden, invisible votes, through PMing the GameMod.
ABILITIES: 1. You start the game in the First circle of Hell (Limbo), instead of a random circle. 2. Once per game, you can end the Day prematurely by PMing the game mod. If you do, the Night phase is skipped, and any town aligned players that you were voting for are killed (whoops); but if you were voting a player and they didn't die, that means they're not on your team! 3. Each Night, you may send one player to the layer of Hell of your choice. They remain there until you use this ability again.
MOVEMENT Teleport: Once per Day, you may travel freely to any circle of Hell.

BEEP!\\whiiiiiiiiirrrr-whiiiiiiiiiiirrrr.\\DING!!
Welcome to the game, friend computer!
Today you will be playing the role of ULTIMATE MAFIA, a Town-Aligned Computer Program. Playing in this game will be FUN because FUN is mandatory!
Your Clearance Level has been upgraded to Level 5.
Each Night you may select a deceased meatsack and clone them, effectively bringing them back from the [01000100 01100101 01100001 01100100]!! The cloning process is imperfect, however, and there is a cumulative 15% chance with each passing [01000100 01100001 01111001] that their brainwave patterns will be scrambled upon their return, resulting in them receiving a brand new identity. You must assign the returned meatsack troubleshooter clone a new Clearance Level of your choice (between 1 and 5) to determine their access to [01101001 01101110 01100110 01101111 01110010 01101101 01100001 01110100 01101001 01101111 01101110]. You can upgrade a clone's Clearance Level at any time, but you can't downgrade it.
Clearance Levels are as follows: 1: Access to the game thread. 2: Everything from Level 1, and their alignment. 3: Everything from Level 2, and their role name. 4: Everything from Level 3, and their abilities. 5: Everything from Level 4, and secret information.
You are Time Traveler's Mafia, a game I ran a long time ago on the mothership that was quite notorious for having featured ACTUAL time travel mechanics. Incredible time travel mechanics that you get to bring back for this game! Excited? You should be!
You can use your incredible time travel powers in one of three awesome ways.
1) Time Travel: At the start of each Day you will receive a PM asking you which Day you'd like to time travel to (what Days are available to choose from will depend on a number of wibbly-wobbly timey-whimey factors). While in a different Day from the present Day, the votes you place, as well as the votes placed against you, will behave in wildly fun time travel related ways. The consequences of this power can be incredible, so be careful you don't cause a butterfly effect paradox!
2) Time Loop: Each Night, you can choose to place a player in a Time Loop. While in a Time Loop, a player is moved to the NEITHER LIVING, NOR DEAD player pool, and is stuck making the exact same decisions for their abilities and/or votes that they made on the previous Day/Night cycle until they are removed from the loop, killed, or returned to the LIVING player pool. You can only trap one player in a Time Loop at a time, and the loop ends if you pick a new player with this power, or if you die.
3) Rewind: Once per game, you can hit the Rewind button to go back to the start of the most recent Day. You can activate this ability even if you are Dead, but only if you died since the beginning of the most recent Day. CAUTION: If you use this power to undo your own death, you might earn the ire of THE DAHAKA, and that ain't good!
Your alignment is Town.
Quote:
You are a Town-Aligned Vanilla Townie.
You have no abilities and no flavour whatsoever. I know that probably sucks, but, alas, it's a necessary evil. You exist because, at this point, with my history, people simply just won't buy that I would include a legit Vanilla Townie in one of my games anymore, and I have to prove them wrong.
Seriously. You have no abilities asides the standard vote that everyone has. That's it.
This role is Bastardized, which means it may contain lies in it. May, as in might, but also might not. Most likely I just decided to make this a Bastard role so you would drive yourself insane wondering if, in fact, you are secretly anything more than just a Vanilla Townie.
But you're not. For realsies. I promise. Stop asking and go play the game already. Sheesh.
Bastard Notes
Every time the Vanilla Townie attempts to use an ability, either they, or anyone they target, receives a false-positive confirmation of use.
Each Night you can investigate a new player and learn the following three pieces of information about them: 1) their alignment, 2) their win condition, 3) who they targeted that Night, if anybody.
The problem is, ONE of these three pieces of information will be a lie. Which one is lying will change every single Night, so that the same piece of information is not a lie two Nights in a row. You may not target the same player twice with this ability.
Welcome. Pull up a chair. Have a sandwich, and get ready for some Magic! Because you are playing Genis Sage, Mafia-Aligned Mage!
Tales of Symphonia Mafia was one of the earliest games I ever played, way back in 2010 on the mothership, Px2, long before it was destroyed. I was super fortunate to get the role because, in addition to having an arsenal of awesome spells at my disposal, I had access to my mod-confirmed Town mason buddy Lloyd in a secret quicktopic who just so happened to be played by Just_a_cleric (one of the best Mafia players around Px2 at the time). It was thanks to JaC's expert mentoring that I made the most of my spells to help with scumhunting, and together we lead the town to an impressive victory. The Coup D'etat, the fact that the Mafia underestimated my powers and believed I could cast each spell only once. They were wrong - dead wrong. And now it is your turn to have all the fun this role can provide (albeit for the opposite team).
At the beginning of the game you only know one spell: THUNDERBLADE. At the start of Day 2, and each Day thereafter, you learn a new spell to add to your arsenal. You can cast one spell per Day, either by sending me a private PM, or by publicly posting in the game thread, using the name of the spell, and the spell's target, in bold and in colour.
Quote:
THUNDERBLADE All votes against a chosen target player are worth 50% more for the rest of the Day.
Though this isn't the exact same role as the one I played way back in 2010, it is heavily inspired by it. You should note, that while you are playing a role based on a game I PLAYED, the Town players are all, for the most part, playing roles based on games I have DESIGNED. Keep that in mind should you need to make a fake claim.

Welcome to ZINGER MAFIA.
You are Moya, Mafia-Aligned RoleCop. I played this role way, way back on Px2 in 2011 for inFAMOUS Mafia. It was my first time playing for the Mafia team, and, in what was an incredible play, I claimed Cop Day 1; I then hard-bussed my Mafia Don (FAUX-RAZOR), getting him Lynched on Day 2; and finally, maneuvered my way around all the WIFOM to earn myself a golden pair of Town Pants that just wouldn't come off. All of this resulted in an incredible one-man victory for the entire Mafia team. It was amazing. Unfortunately, the original thread recording this amazing event, along with the rest of the mothership, is gone - BUT THE INFAMOUS QUICKTOPIC REMAINS!
Your starting Lynch Threshold is Majority -2. That means that if there are 11 players alive (a majority of 6), it would take only 4 votes to see you Lynched. However, if you claim to be a Cop, or some kind of investigation-role variant, you gain a cumulative +1 to your Lynch Threshold at the start of each following Day. Also, if you bus and help lynch a fellow Mafiate, you get a +2 to your Lynch Threshold. Each Night, you may choose a living player and you'll get to glimpse a copy of their entire ROLE PM. You can chat with your fellow Mafiates here.
The role you are playing for this game is not the exact same role as I played it back in 2011, but it is inspired by it, and the way I played it. You should note, that while you are playing a role based on a game I PLAYED, the Town players are all, for the most part, playing roles based on games I have DESIGNED. Keep that in mind should you need to make a fake claim.

You are Set, the Sealed God. The Day 1 game-winner role from MS Paint Mafia that nobody saw coming! As with before when I played the role, nobody will see you coming (because I neglected to mention that there might be a Jester when I listed the other four alignments), but a Day 1 victory is less likely than in that game. Less likely, but still possible! Don't let me tell you not to try and shoot for a Day 1 win if that's what you want to do, just understand it will be difficult.
You have a Bastard role, which is my way of telling you that there may be lies in your role PM.
Here's some story stuff: "One Hundred Trillion Millenia ago, a battle with a legendary hero sealed your power over the universe. Since then, you have sought to regain it. You are currently confined within a mortal vessel, and will only be freed when that vessel is destroyed. The vessel is normally too powerful to be destroyed, but a gathering of powerful characters has weakened the seal. Now is your chance."
And a Picture:
Win Condition: You win the game when you are lynched.
Passive Ability - Immortal Vessel: You are immune to death by any means other than lynch. In addition, in order to be lynched you need the vote of every other living player in the game rather than a majority. You can be lynched normally in LyLo. Passive Ability - Weakening Seal: Each time you are targeted at night, you require one less vote to be lynched. This ability can not reduce your lynch threshold below the default majority requirement. Passive Ability - The World Belongs to Me: You end the game when you have achieved your win condition. Passive Ability - Unless it Belongs to Somone Else First: If a Mafia-Aligned player is lynched, you become Mafia-Aligned, and your win condition changes to "You win the game when all Town-Aligned players are dead."
Bastardry
Not actually immune to death. That's a lie.

You are Zinger2099, the Special-Aligned Player! Your role is Bastardized and may contain lies.
You don't believe that one side must win and another side must lose. You want both sides of your identity to live in harmony. You win and the game ends if three consecutive Days pass without any players occupying the Dead Players pool (checked at the end of each Day).
You have four powers (listed below). You can use only one power per Day and one per Night. Each time you use a power, it increases or decreases your Loyalty score by an amount listed next to the power. Your starting Loyalty is 5.
Quote:
Zinger's Powers: 1) +2 Loyalty: Clear all Votes; OR, Protect one player from Kills until the end of the Day or Night. 2) +0 Loyalty: Move a Dead player to the Neither Living, Nor Dead player pool. 3) -1 Loyalty: Move a Neither Living, Nor Dead player back to the Living player pool, and there is a cumulative 10% chance for each Day they weren't Living that they'll gain your Win Condition permanently. 4) -X Loyalty: Give another player your Win Condition for a number of Days equal to the amount of Loyalty spent.
Your Lynch Threshold is equal to your Loyalty score.
Bastard Role
Bastardry Secrets No Lie Policy: Every time Zinger makes a post in the Game Thread that contains one or more lies about his role, his Loyalty score decreases by 0.5, to a minimum of 1.

Surprise, surprise! You are The Clone Saga: A Spider-Man Mafia 3!
The game that killed Mafia on NoGoblinsAllowed. A massive, incredible undertaking that was too big to be sustainable on these forums. Still, to this day, the game gathers dust on my office floor, dreaming of one day being run. That's what you dream of. You are a game that has yet to be, and truthfully might never be played. If you stick around long enough, eventually you'll get played, right? All you have to do is not give up! You are Self-Aligned, and must survive to the end of this game to win (you must be in the pool of Living Players).
To help you achieve this, you'll have access to a pair of alternate accounts; Spider-Man, and the Scarlet Spider [Password for both: **********]. You may post in the game thread using either of these accounts at any time, as long as you are in the Living player pool. You also have a pair of votes, a red vote and a blue vote, that you can use in tandem with your three accounts. Spider-Man will always use your blue vote, while Scarlet Spider uses your red vote. You can use BOTH from your regular account, but you must colour your votes red or blue so it is clear which one you are using.
At Night, you can web up a player in a protective cocoon. This protects them from being killed, but also roleblocks them, preventing the use of any activated abilities.
At any time, as long as you aren't dead, you can voluntarily go into Exile. Going into Exile puts you in the Neither Living, Nor Dead player pool, but be warned, you cannot return from Exile on your own! The power to bring you back lies in the hands of another.
Spectators
Quote:
WELCOME TO ZINGER MAFIA!
You are a Spectator, an aberration that is distantly related to the Beholder.
You don't have an alignment. You win the game when the game ends, as long as you are not Dead. You have four abilities which are described below.
Aberration: You begin the game in the Neither Living, Nor Dead player pool.
Always Watching: You can post in the game thread at any time, Day or Night, regardless of whether you are Living, Dead, or Neither of those things.
No Hands: You can't vote.
Eye Rays: As long as you are not Dead, each Night you can choose a Living player and try to hit them with one of your dastardly eye-beams. Roll a d20 and a d4 (send me your rolls by PM using the Dice tag). If you beat your target's AC, they are hit! See effects below. A Living player's AC is 10 + their current lynch threshold. Be warned, if you try to hit a player with an eye ray and miss, they will be told that you attacked them!
Quote:
1 - Confusion Ray: All activated abilities of the chosen player are redirected to another, random, valid target. 2 - Paralyzing Ray: The chosen player is Roleblocked. 3 - Fear Ray: The chosen player will be told they have been marked for death and have only one more Day to live. This is a lie. 4 - Wounding Ray: The chosen player receives a vote placed against them on the following Day which is identified in the votecount as coming from you.
Replacement: As long as you are Neither Living Nor Dead, if another Living player needs to be replaced, there is a chance you might randomly swap roles with that player.

So, if we got jac lynched yesterday and tonight neither neutral played interfered, mafia and town would have killed each other for a neutral only victory. This win feels hollow now.
