This one's correct.

Now, if you had Commander Teferi's emblem out, then by all means these would all be true. But if you had Commander Teferi's emblem, you could just end the turn before your opponent draws a card anyways. :teach:

Hmmm....I think Edacade should be grading, or at least running a contest.

Nah. I'm just a rules nut. :incognito: Or rules lawyer or something.

I'm the guy who pissed e'rybody off at my LGS by running a Willbreaker-Throwing Knife combo deck and had to explain (poorly) to everybody there that you choose targets before choosing whether or not to sacrifice the Knife. :V

Porch Lamp -
Artifact
Whenever a creature card is returned to the battlefield or to its owner's hand from a graveyard, create a 1/1 white Spirit creature token with flying.
On the night the great war was over, the Akamori range lit up with the soft glows of ten of thousands of lanterns, each light carrying a wish for their loved ones to return home.

Lol, thanks!

Yeah, Edacade is right on those. Still, with that Teferi around you could theoretically keep activating him to post-pone some of those effects indefinitely!

Brinebender Siren
Creature — Siren (C)
When Brinebender Siren enters the battlefield, create a 0/4 blue Crab creature token.

• Target creature attacks you this turn if able.
• Target creature attacks a Kiora planeswalker you control this turn if able.
2/1

Too complicated for a common? I think it just barely makes it under the bar.

preadatordetecetor - I've always thought traps were fun. I think this one would have been perfect if you had left off the scry and card draw. It feels a little "tacked" on and doesn't have a strong flavorful connection for me. The 3 1/1 deathtouchers were enough. 2 Points.
Azureshade - Really fun card. Could and should be printed. I mean, sure it would end up in the 1$ rare pile, but I would have bought 4. 3 Points.
Edacade - lol another fun card. Poses the question "Is it not OP if its OP for everyone?" But of course this card still favors the red player, and the goblin player, so I'm not sure just having it so they can't block is enough to make this card very fair. Still fun though. 2 Points.
resdamalos - there is a lot going on with this card. At first I was worried it was too wordy, but it's flavorful, and powerful. It combos with a ton of different cards and give a lot of flexibility to your deck. This is the kind of Build Around Me card I was looking for a few rounds ago. Some could break this. 3 Points.
Knight Otu - Well designed and printable. Another example of serious design skills. Personally, I don't love this card, but its only through play style. There is literally nothing wrong with it. 3 Points.
theatog - totally a control card. You can either pump out tokens for yourself and ignore the drawback or give them to your opponent but tap down his guys for the trouble. Really rewards skill. 3 Points.
SimicMimic - all kinds of interesting happening with this card. I think the Choose one option would have been the appropriate choice here? You don't see a lot of cards with T: Choose one options do you? Gatherer search tells me hardly any at all. 3 Points.
Yarium - There is nothing to knock about this card other than you put the tap symbol before the mana cost. 3 Points.
Confused - my favorite card of the round! 3 Points.
ParadOxymoron - interesting card but I do think too complicated for common. Like a top tier pick for limited though. 2 Points.
Tekkahedron - Looks good to me. Has the potential for OP, but not to the point I would dock you. 3 Points.

Favorite Card of the Round - Confused! +2 Points!

STANDINGS:

Yarium - 53 Points
theatog - 51 Points
Knight Otu - 50 Points
Edacade - 47 Points
AzureShade - 48 Points
resdamalos - 46 Points
SimicMimic - 45 Points
Confused - 44 Points
preadatordetector - 43 Points
UselessCommon - 38 Points
Tekkahedron - 41 Point
ParadOxymoron - 35 Points
purplebackpack89 - 32 Points
Mown - 26 Points
Malikot - 23 Points
aranthinius - 7 Points

CRITERIA: Make a monocolored creature with a "T: Choose one ─" ability. At least one of the abilities must be primary, at least one must be a secondary or tertiary. Also, I need to start being really nitpicky about cards. You people are just too good at this to be lenient in anyway. I will be grading on all sorts of things, but balance, design skill, printability and originality are all coming into play. Please list a rarity for your cards going forward, and you don't have to include flavor text, but it can't hurt.

Political Lurker
Creature-Shapeshifter (Uncommon)
: Choose one--
  • Draw a card.
  • Political Lurker becomes a copy of another target creature until end of turn.
1/3

I wanted to just call it Lurker, but...

Edit: Also, I misread the secondary. It's copying permanents temporarily. Permanent copy is primary. Tweaking ability and card stats (on account of it being much worse when it copies something temporarily).

Those snakes were more overdone than a dry steak. First a card too weak, then a card too complex for the sake of strength.
I like icy things, and clones. I'll combine them both.

Frost Emissary
Creature - Elemental Advisor [R]
:u:, :t:: Choose one -
  • Tap target creature.
  • Target nonland permanent doesn't untap during its next untap step.
  • ~ becomes a copy of target creature.
0/3
Frost emissaries are known for their cold touch and graceful movement.
As a last resort, they can permanently change their form into something stronger.

Dang, someone beat me to it. To be honest, I think "draw a card" for :t: is too strong at CMC :3: so I'll do nothing about that.
Edit: He changed the CMC to :5: and made the copying temporary. Okay then...

Man, I'm terrible with rarities. Oh well, it shouldn't be that bad, right?

Kitsune Kensai
Creature - Fox Samurai (U)
:t:: Choose one -
  • Prevent the next 2 damage that would be dealt to target creature. If damage is prevented this way, it is dealt to ~ instead.
  • Untap another target creature you control. You can choose this mode only once per turn.
"A blade can do more than cut. It would be wise to remember this, young one." - Opal-Eye
1/3

Using damage redirection and untapping creatures (really? That's secondary?). The "once per turn" clause is to prevent infinite shenanigans.

EDIT: I'm having trouble adjusting the card to account for its similarity to Opal-Eye, Konda's Yojimbo. Dang it, I thought I was being clever. At least I get to do a cool thing with my flavor text.
