#1 and #3 look terrible and #2 looks obvious (although I'm pretty sure you can make a much better version of that archetype). The only remotely interesting deck between those is #4, but the builder had to include crap like Invocation and the Blue Mythic to make the thing ugly. I hope they saved the best decks for the second batch :(

Sadly that's as far as innovation can go whilst still being practical in this set.

What's on the menu today... A 71 cards deck with 4 colors with only half cycle of dual lands that we can use? A 20 lands deck with seven 5 drops and two X spells? I thought it would be a little more serious.

I like the deck running 71 cards, 25 lands and 14 5+ drops with 3 ramp cards, i can't see anything going wrong with that whatsoever

At least it would be nice to see the unconfortable face of the streamer playing it.

Love the 9 Rootbound Crag, great tech there.

(Still missing the quick reply that we had on the duels forum).

Did Stainless randomly select the decks or something?

Btw... I'm super duper hoping this means they'll show off the deck building functions.

Not to mention a 10/10 split of islands and plains (duel lands are overrated i guess) with 6 white cards in his deck to the like 30+ blue spells, several with UU costs, i can't wait to see the streamer get mana screwed with that haha

One way to handle it:
They internally set the decks to exactly draw specific cards in a specific order.
After all, it's a closed environment alpha.

Wotc might as well have used the Planeswalker Decks instead of these wrecks. Good for cross-promotion of the paper product.

Should call both of those decks "Carnage Tyrant, Concede".

Well I suppose its fun to see unusual decks on stream that likely won't be able to normally compete when playing.

What a silly matchup... primal sorcery wins, obviously.

Why did they pick 2 creatureless control?

Unless they ultimately manipulate the facebook vote and elect another second winner, that's the current result by their own rules.

The real issue here should be having nearly duplicate decks among those 2 groups.
Either they should've chosen 8 single decks, each with a different theme, or at the very least they should've had the grace of grouping similar ones into the same voting session, to avoid this kind of turnout.

Oh well, let's see what they end up doing

It's extra odd, because while I like both decks, I don't see why people voted for them. I mean this is a dino/pirates set, would they like to at least see some of that in action? I guess one reason will be to see the client in action with instants/sorceries, but that's not that good of a reason imo. Roughly half of the Grixis deck might as well have been land.

Pretty sure quite a view overwhelming thought what I thought but beyond just accepting that it happened; the game is gonna be Pirates vs Dinosaurs for some time in beta so pick something unusual to watch on stream.
