You have a lot of big creatures without ramp and you have 6 resurrection spells with only 3 Fleshbags to kill something. Am I missing something?

CovertGoBlue, I tried your Recursion deck, as I'd had a few similar brews I was not too happy with and wanted to see if you'd cracked it. I'm sad to report that this version is pretty weak. Originally planned on playing ten games, but didn't have the heart to continue seven, which went as follows:

W, Sultai Mill. T5 Ulamog.
L, Boros Aggro. Kept a seven with two evolving wilds, offshoot, and gatecreeper on the draw. He had T1 Glory Chaser, T2 Suntail Hawk, T3 aura on the bird. Only Radiant Flames could have saved that one, and I didn't draw it.

L, BR Devoid Aggro. This time I did have Radiant Flames, but no way to dump my monsters into the yard. Chumped with a Gatecreeper Vine T3, but he swung for 9 T4 (Forerunner, Aggregate, hasted Strangler), and then played another two creatures after I swept the Forerunner and Strangler away. T5 recur a vine is not a good feeling.

W, Esper Control. His deck was threat light and didn't play permission, so I was able to just durdle up to playing a couple Plated Crushers, which won.

L, Boros Aggro. Had a nearly perfect anti-aggro hand. 2 offshoots, forest, evolving wilds, spectrum, Gaia's Revenge, and drew recursion and radiant flames early. Lost anyway when he effectively countered radiant flames with titan's strength on a 3/3 and had a perfect top deck that let him win the race – Abbot exiling Suntail Hawk.

L, GB Ramp/Aristocrats. Never had a chance, despite the deck pretty much doing what it tries to do. He mossed me, so recurring Gaia game T6 rather than t5, but he had a From Beyond, and Visionaries, and a Gatecreeper vine, and Greenwarden to trade with the Gaia's Revenge, and ramped smoothly to Ulamog which he protected from Radiant Flames + Marauder with a Blisterpod.

L, Simic Ramp. I had quite close to the best possible starting hand for this deck (lands, Ulamog, Epiphany, Gatecreeper). My opponent was on the play, mossed me t4, I missed my fifth (should have been sixth) land for a turn after he countered a Brilliant Spectrum, and had to play a second Spectrum to find it. Finally recurred Ulamog two turns late. He responded with a hard-cast Ulamog, exiling mine. Yay.

Total: 2-5

Overall, it's too slow against both aggro and ramp, and too much of a one trick pony. It doesn't have much hope of winning a long game against decks with more card advantage engines.

I like some of the interactions, but the mana base could be more reliable. I don't think you can afford to play Foundry with only 3 Pilgrim's for fixing. I'd also consider dropping black.

That's true, Ulamog's Nullifier is the only Black spell and could be replaced by Brutal Expulsion or even just Horribly Awry.

alright so I've been having heeps of fun with this deck the basic concept is pretty simple, white removal early on, board sweepers midgame, 7/7 hexproof lumbering falls for the win. Funfact: this is the only deck where I have actually ulti'd Jace I don't even know how it happens, I just keep ticking him up, and I never need to flash anything back. so besides jace and lumbering falls gideon and part the waterveil are your 2 other wincons some times in combination with each other (water veil is also ALWAYS a turn 10 play, the 6/6 haste into another 6/6 swing very much matters)

Here is a 4 Color Tutelage deck that might not be total garbage because I have actually tested it a bit. It still needs some fine tuning, but it has done really well so far. It's like Five Color Converge Ramp and Sultai Fog had a baby. I write about it, as usual, in Duels Diaries Week 19 which will be up in a few minutes and there is a link in my signature.

3 x Jaddi Offshoot
2 x Rolling Thunder
1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
4 x Gatecreeper Vine
3 x Sphinx's Tutelage
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
3 x Retreat to Kazandu
2 x Radiant Flames
3 x Natural Connection
1 x From Beyond
4 x Brilliant Spectrum
2 x Languish
1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Sire of Stagnation
1 x Oblivion Sower
2 x Nissa's Renewal
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

So, I figured I should give you all an update on my Land Control deck (ubRG) that I started the thread off with. Now, full disclosure: I mostly use this list to whomp on the computer AI. I could make some adjustments, mostly for speedy removal, to go back to dueling players with it, but for that I have a BG deck that tends to crush most strategies with absurd amounts of removal and inevitability (the Endless Waltz). Also, I play for coins so I do not have that many BfZ cards yet. Anyway, bearing in mind that I fight the AI more often with this list (the AI loves control decks), here goes:

2 CMC:
4 x Perilous Myr
1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
4 x Gatecreeper Vine
2 x Evolutionary Leap

3 CMC:
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 x Unnatural Aggression
1 x Touch of the Void

4 CMC:
3 x Gravedigger
1 x Flameshadow Conjuring
1 x Brutal Expulsion
4 x Mwonvuli Acid-Moss
1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths

5 CMC:
1 x Conclave Naturalists
3 x Possessed Skaab
3 x Zendikar's Roil

6 CMC:
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Sire of Stagnation
3 x Into the Maw of Hell

7 CMC:
1 x Omnath, Locus of Rage

Lands:
1 x Mountain
7 x Forest
1 x Woodland Cemetery
2 x Rootbound Crag
2 x Hinterland Harbor
2 x Dragonskull Summit
1 x Golgari Guildgate
4 x Gruul Guildgate
1 x Izzet Guildgate
1 x Rakdos Guildgate
1 x Simic Guildgate

The big thing that's still missing is Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, although with just a little more push towards exile I have considered adding some Ulamog's Reclaimer to truly maximize my instant/sorcery recursion and, therefore, land destruction. There's no other satisfaction quite like destroying two awakened lands with one Into the Maw of Hell and then regrowing it. Speaking of regrowing, you can probably tell that this deck is crammed to the brim with card advantage. It's slower than Christmas, but any opening hand with Gatecreeper Vine, Perilous Myr and Evolutionary Leap is going to be an excellent showing. As much as I have played and replayed this deck, there is still some experimentation going on with the new cards. Unnatural Aggression, Brutal Expulsion and Sire of Stagnation are all recent additions and do not have a guaranteed spot, although in the Sire's case I love the cruelty of decimating their lands and then dropping him out there to make any further land drops they make utterly crippling. In practice, the AI does everything in its power to get Sire off the board even if only temporarily, which to me feels like I must be doing something right (removal magnets have that magnetic quality for a reason).

This deck performs very well against the control-heavy AI, but occasionally loses/restarts to a combination of an iffy hand and an aggressively curved-out set of fliers. If I was going to retool it for fighting players again, I would bring the mana curve lower with more cheap removal spells (Anchor to the Aether would be more this deck's style, but realistically it would mean going back to good old Twin Bolt). I guess I could create a second 4-color land control deck and leave this heavily-tested and well-loved version as-is.

I took Covert's Tutelage deck and swapped in some cards for cards I didn't have yet and 1 for a card I didn't agree with and I have been having fun with it.
Turned out a bit of a mix victory condition deck that can win in surprising ways each time; Burn, Mill and sometimes smashing face with the big guys at the top.
Not the best at lands though so I wasn't fully sure what they should be so it's probably a bit of a mess.

Hi there,

I wonder why nobody plays 5 colored decks anymore. I first got in contact with Magic during the Invasion block, so multicolor decks were quite normal to me. Thats why I tried to put up a green based 5 colored landfall/converge/enchantment deck:

Full Retreat:

3x Jaddi Offshoot
2x Animist's Awakening
1x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
2x Herald of the Pantheon
2x Gatecreeper Vine
3x Skyrider Elf
2x Reave Soul
1x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2x Natural Connection
2x Radiant Flames
2x Retreat to Coralhelm
2x Retreat to Kazandu
2x Retreat to Hagra
2x Retreat to Emeria
2x Woodland Wanderer
2x Sigil of the Empty Throne
2x Oran-Rief Hydra
1x Oblivion Sower

1x Plains
1x Swamp
1x Island
1x Mountain
3x Forest
2x Cinder Glade
2x Canopy Vista
2x Woodland Cemetery
2x Drowned Catacomb
2x Rootbound Crag
2x Hinterland Harbor
2x Sunpetal Grove
4x Evolving Wilds

So far, I am having good success agains both aggro and Blue-Black or Green-Black control. Yet this deck loses against the old fashiones Red Green Landfall. So maybe you could help me out a little? There are so many things I am not quite sure about. Do you agree with the lands? (Only 1 standard land type except Forest) Would you play Leap and Myrs to bomb the enemy rather than Ravish Soul? Maybe Starfishs instead of Vines? Ob Nixilis and Languish came to my mind for more control, yet the 2 Black mana are a problem. Same thing with Sigil, but when cast, it simply kills. What about Nissas Renewal in the Endgame or Sage against artifacts or enchantments? Maybe even eliminate one color straight, to make it more flexible, but which one?

There are so many possibilities, I need your help :D

An update to my Jeskai-Green Control viewtopic.php?p=389186#p389186

the green was fine and lumbering falls was a good card but the biggest issue I've run across lately is the lack of lifegain so I decided to switch the :g: for :b:. plus Ob Nixilus is great for this deck

1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
2 x Reprisal
2 x Gideon's Reproach
2 x Celestial Flare
3 x Telling Time
2 x Scatter to the Wind
3 x Spell Shrivel
2 x Radiant Flames
2 x Roil Spout
4 x Brilliant Spectrum
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
2 x Planar Outburst
2 x Tragic Arrogance
2 x Angelic Edict
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Part the Waterveil
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

4 x Plains
3 x Island
1 x Swamp
1 x Mountain
2 x Shambling Vent
2 x Smoldering Marsh
2 x Sunken Hollow
2 x Prairie Stream
2 x Clifftop Retreat
2 x Sulfur Falls
2 x Glacial Fortress
4 x Evolving Wilds
