Preferred Pronoun Set: Xhir/xhim, depending on Moon phase
This is the final version of Abzan that I'm playing, and I'm really happy with it, I can't imagine how to make it much better...I think this is the time when my first draft and the final build has been closer, I have barely touched a couple cards...but the pieces where all there in plain sight, so that's not that meritory, lol

Midabzan Forte

2 x Sylvan Ranger
2 x Sylvan Advocate
2 x Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim
2 x Duskwatch Recruiter
2 x Declaration in Stone
3 x Grasp of darkness

2 x Bygone Bishop
2 x Tireless Tracker
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2 x Anguished Unmaking
2 x Pulse of Murasa
1 x Ulvenwald Mysteries

2 x Woodland Wanderer
1 x Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
1 x Languish

1 x Archangel Avacyn
2 x Planar Outburst
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited

1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Woodland Bellower
1 x Sorin, Grim Nemesis

3 x Plains
3 x Swamp
4 x Forest

1 x Hissing Quagmire
2 x Shambling Vent
2 x Canopy Vista
2 x Isolated Chapel
2 x Woodland Cemetery
2 x Sunpetal Grove
4 x Evolving Wilds

Comment: 25 lands and 2 rangers seem enough

Not having Ever After saddens me...but I don't want many cards that are conditional on others to be useful...still, maybe in exchange of Mysteries, the other conditional...

Recruiter is awesome, I don't get why he isn't autoinclude in this archetype...for the love of dog, he's a quasi-Evolpea and/or a mana-Lord!...besides quite a body in himself

Byshop is a must too...they are almost as good as Trackers...enough said

Wanderers work and work for me again and again...even at 5/5...the last touch to keep the pressure always coming, and if Stoned or something, better for my Kaly/Avy/Trackers

Languish is survivable for half my critters, and kills unkillable things (ahem...Tormentors?)
Outburst, besides reset, are there for the awaken/Advocate/manlands side plan...and they kill PWs

Of all the finishers/biggies, I find Murasa, Bellower+tracker/advocate and Sorin to be the most powerful

The card that add a whole new layer of options is Pulse. Just to name one, Pulse+zombiAvy as a combat trick is ragequit, garanteed. Pulse + Murasa...well, you know...and the 6 life is just sweet, makes a whole world of difference against the ocasional RDW etc

Mysteries is about the only card tuneable...for the moment, it keeps performing...makes the sweeps less painful, combs with trackers, bishops, gideon's emblems...makes wellcomed fodder...tends to be useful almost always...but I can see the reasons to not run it, so...free slot :)

Tier 1 indeed, imho

Totaly agree Maggit's list is tier 1.
Thought I share my tier 2 lifelink version.

Powercards 10
2 x Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
1 x Archangel Avacyn
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Sorin, Grim Nemesis
2 x Defiant Bloodlord

Creatures 7
4 x Cleric of the Forward Order
2 x Lantern Scout
1 x Linvala, the Preserver

Instant/Sorceries 19
4 x Dazzling Reflection
3 x Pulse of Murasa
2 x Anguished Unmaking
2 x Read the Bones
2 x Languish
2 x Explosive Vegetation
2 x Planar Outburst
2 x Nissa's Renewal

Lands 24
6 x Plains
4 x Swamp
4 x Forest
2 x Shambling Vent
2 x Canopy Vista
2 x Woodland Cemetery
2 x Isolated Chapel
2 x Sunpetal Grove

1st deck I made, because I'm a lifelink sucker.
Linvala, the Preserver looks like a powercard, but when i cast her i useally have more life or the board is clean and she is so pretty so she stayed in the team.
Read the Bones and Explosive Vegetation are in for manafixing
Dazzling Reflection is an amazing card in this deck, get life of opponent's creatures before they get wiped XD.

I have to agree, Abzan Midrange is a solid Tier 1 deck. I rarely lose with the list.

You had me at:

ragequit, garanteed.

You sure do build some good decks. Can't wait to try it. that's three today so far I need to try. This is getting ridiculous for me. I've never had so many decks on the go. In Magic 2012, everyone had 19 decks. With the latest expansion, i think this is the first, of the constructed games, where I might beat that. Speaks to a good card pool.

In the below spoiler bracket is my take on Abzan Midrange. I noticed "Superfriends" is basically Abzan + for Chandra & Arlinn & Nahiri.

23 Creatures, 12 Spells, 25 Lands. Heavy skew to , then , with the splash.

Did everyone fall out of love with Evolutionary Leap???

Spoiler

This looks remarkable similar to what I am running in the Showdown...

Gem, you forgot about Radiant Flames, which is usually in RBWG Superfriends.

The problem with Evolutionary Leap and, to a lesser extent, Duskwatch Recruiter, is their abilities skip over non-creatures. In these Azban Mid-Range decks your other spells are super important and skipping over them can and will lose you games. The question is does having those cards win you more games than they lose you...and that I don't have an answer to.

I don't like Deathcap Cultivator & Duskwatch Recruiter unless I'm playing a deck with some flash creatures at 3-mana. Sylvan Ranger & Evolving Wilds is better for this deck it seems.

I forgot about Oath of Chandra & Radiant Flames.

One tinni tiny change with my deck. -1 Mindwrack Demon +1 Linvala, the Preserver

Deathcap Cultivator is good for getting out your threats a turn earlier or taking a removal spell that could have been used on a larger threat. Even drawn late game he isn't a dead draw, since by that time you should have delirium which gives him Deathtouch.

Good change for Linvala...more relevant, I think.

Okay. So, after playing this deck for a while on Xbox Live, this Abzan list is ABSOLUTELY OPPRESSIVE. Best deck in the game by far. It almost makes me want to sell my Xbox One to get a new laptop JUST to play on Steam for free with a superior connection and more experienced player base. I mean look at the decks that are performing in the SteamShowdown vs. FightClub. So many Abzan and Abzan + decks poised for top 8. Its oblivious the Steam meta knows what the best deck is...

Yeah but folk forget about how much more removal was also added to the format. Evoleap bricks removal spells!

Doesn't brick the spell...the creature is still gone, replacing ed by an Elvish Visionary or something. That is irrelevant. What is relevant is it blanks exile effects and helps with recurrsion.
