And I had to go 3 times on the draw vs RDW... if setting up games on ios wasn't such a problem, the otp/otd should be switched like in a real tournament.

Apart from some distrust towards how this would affect RNGsus, I've often felt that this should indeed be doable. Simply restart until ended up where needed.
Perhaps it's something to consider for future iterations of the tournament.

RNG cuts both ways and though it may not always seem so I believe it to be fair. If there was an in game way to set up play and draw I'd be all for it but this restarting to set it I can't get behind. I trust this lot but I'd not invite an opportunity to tip the scales

:)

The connection issues alone.

But I like the idea of a deck that gets unlucky (like Mobius) and is almost alwAys on the draw but through skillful piloting and deck construction still manages to outperform. I would be more impressed with that performance than a Mardu Vehicles deck that wins after being on the play almost all the time

Chance can be fun :)

But then, if you believe the RNG to be fair, what tipping of the scales would occur that otherwise (currently) does not?

The connection issues alone.

Not that I’ve experienced that many connection issues on iOS myself so far, but if they are indeed a factor, wouldn’t they impact each game with the same opponent, regardless of whether it’s the 3rd or 8th attempt?
Don't all decks have the chance of losing despite being on the play?

Don’t get me wrong guys, I’m fine with the way things are and have absolutely no intentions of pushing this method.
It's far from perfect and I'm sure some may (or will) find it to be a (minor) manual nuisance to get right each time.
But, if we're exchanging opinions: considering how the game is suppósed to be played, to me it seems more like the restoration of, rather than a detriment to the fairness of tournament play.
Now as to whether the results outweigh the effort, sure, that's debatable.

And I do agree, chance cán be fun, but the RNG kind of already has that covered.. :) (surprise, it's a land!)

I just think you should play with what you get.

Like anyone else I've been unhappy with hands or being on the draw. It's a part of the game and I have no compulsion to influence it one way or the other

Mort, you have to admit though, that in a tournament setting with polished decks the otp/otd can greatly influence the outcome, especially if you play aggro.

It's part of duels, but we're talking about tournaments.

It definitely does which is why I'd like an in game option to choose which goes on the play. Restarting the match to ensure someone on the play is not that.

And as far as tournaments go there have been several, right? Nothing like that has been implemented, no everyone has the same chance. Sometimes your the hammer other times the nail

Mort, we have to work with what we have and I don't want to change the rules now, it's just my observation. There's a saying in Poland "better is the enemy of good" :-)

Btw. The only Polish NBA player - Marcin Gortat is nicknamed "The Polish Hammer" :-)

I'm pretty sure that's a quote that's commonly attributed to Voltair, though I don't think he was the first to use it.

Edit: Quick wikipedia check:

Wikipedia exerpt wrote:

Might be, didn't check. It's just a popular saying in Poland :-)

Video up of my round 1 match v Cucho. I have also appended the commentary. Game 1 is the best of the two but at every opportunity a counter to my threats. Game 2 is why you never, ever keep a 2 land hand, ever! Of course sometimes you never listen to your own advice right :bang:

Check it https://m.imgur.com/a/naQl2 that is maybe a turn or two before you broke Gideon out of jail with an anguished unmaking I think. I very much did not want that to happen but the game wouldn't cooperate. No big deal though had a ton of fun and managed to seal the deal. Gl with the rest of the tourney, bro
