Hey all, please read this whole post whether you are participating or watching, as it’ll contain all the details of the tournament!
The Steam Showdowns aim is to create fresh content for the Duels community, therefore it would be ideal if participants could Stream their games on Twitch or upload them to Youtube. If you are unsure how to do this, I’ve made a video showing how to set up a Twitch stream:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5ocfphZKQY Please also remember to set you're bitrate to 2500 to avoid a jerky video, and use the “Archive Broadcast” feature which I have given instructions on how to do in the description of the video. I would also recommend doing some test streams before your matches to make sure everything is working. Any trouble please don’t hesitate in asking.
Message to Viewers The Current Standings and results of previous rounds will be hidden behind a spoiler tag below, along with any recording of the matches to go along with them. If you want to avoid spoilers, I recommend sticking to the first page of this thread as later pages will likely contain results and/or discussion of matches (If participants could hide their results behind a spoiler tag that would be appreciated.) Viewers, feel free to have fun in this thread by either cheering on favourites or trolling competitors (I recommend GIFS for maximum impact.) Keep it relatively civil though.

viewtopic.php?f=38&t=13418&p=411806#p411809Tournament Rules-- The first 24 people to tell me they were interested in participating were chosen to compete in this tournament, these people have been listed in the “participant” post below
Please will these players make a confirmation post in this thread along with their steam name and time zone to aid in organising matches. You have until February 12th, 23:00 GMT to do this and submit a decklist (more on this below).
If any player who expressed interest no longer wishes to participate, please let me know as soon as possible so I can replace you with one of the reserve players (Marnel and GTFL). Once the tournament starts I expect everyone to commit to the tournament and get their matches played, however if something does happen A reserve player will be asked to step in or a bye system introduced, depending on the stage of the tournament.
-- Each Player must submit a deck list to SquiderDragon via PM, which you will use exclusively throughout the tournament. All the decks will be published at once. after they have all been submitted. If you spot any errors in your deck once it has been revealed in this thread it is your responsibility to correct any mistakes there may be before the tournament starts, or changes will not be accepted.
You have until February 12th 23:00 to submit a decklist to SquiderDragonLink to Squider’s Profile:
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=882-- The tournament will use a 5 round Swiss style pairing with a cut to the top 8 players. The top 8 will then play single elimination until a winner is determined. All matches will be a best of three, until the final which will be a best of five. No intentional forfeiting/Drawing is allowed, you must play all of your matches. Each round players will have one week to play there games once the matchups have been posted. There will be no sideboarding this tournament.
-- If you use an illegal decklist the first penalty will be a game loss, a second offense will be a match loss and the third expulsion from the tournament. It is the players’ responsibility to ensure they are running the correct decklist.
-- If you disconnect from a game this will result in a game loss, unless your opponent is willing to replay the game. They are under no pressure to do so. If there is a mutual disconnect please try and resolve it between each other first (e.g replaying the match ect) if you feel the other player is being unfair send me a PM and I'll make a decision. Remember this is a friendly tournament and aims to promote content.
-- Any bugged interactions that are used in an advantageous way (only one I can think of is Scion tokens + Vampiric Rites) will result in a game loss. It is the player’s responsibility to know these bugs beforehand. However bugs that result in a less useful situation are fair game (e.g greenwardens second ability.)
Prize the prize structure is as shown below:
1st - 40%
2nd - 30%
3rd-4th - 15%
5th-8th - 1x 1250 gold bundle
