Looking for 3-5 players to run a Pathfinder based game set in the D&D Underdark. I've had pieces of this campaign sitting a long while, and figure I'd give it a try here.

Focus for the campaign will be on discovery, survival, exploration, politics, or combat, variable depending on how the group wants to shape it.

Obviously some spells and class features might be restricted or work differently based on the fact that you're deep underground, but for the most part, everything else should be pretty close to RAW. Since I'm using a D&D setting with Pathfinder rules, there may be some D&D only supplements I'm willing to approve (and will be introducing), but otherwise, the campaign is Pathfinder rules.

The basic premise is a group of adventurers that took a wrong turn in a cave, and have now ended up in the underdark (unknown to them) together. Your general motivation will be finding the way home. Starting level is 5.

Any interested players?

Since this is Pathfinder will all the Pathfinder SRD* rules be available to players? I'm looking for an excuse to play something from the new 'Advanced Class Guide' - though at the moment I'm not entirely sure what. Any races or classes from the SRD* you are disallowing?

Are firearms a thing in your campaign? I was briefly considering Gunslinger mostly because I liked the idea of having a weapon that would, with a single twitch of the finger, send a massive 'we are over here' message to everything for miles.

Also you doing the standard 10,500gp for level 5 characters?

*For the record SRD includes;
Core Rulebook
Advanced Class Guide
Advanced Players Guide
Advanced Race Guide
Ultimate Combat/Magic/Equipment

Level 5 and facing the Drow's home territory? Aren't those things born at level 3?

I'll be looking out for overt cheese, but yes, everything in the SRD is cleared, unless I find a reason to disallow something, which I generally won't. Gunslingers have a green light, but like you said, they aren't the most stealthy of combatants. :P

Standard GP.

Basically, if Paizo gives me access to reference it (since bookkeeping is my prime concern), it's good to go.

Yes, but I won't be instantly dumping you into a shark tank of evil murderers. There'll be some political grey area to diplomatically work your way into, at some point, and I won't be out to kill you (for a good few levels, at least :P), I'm out to create a story with you.

Well, I have been looking to join a new campaign since most of the ones I was in have died out.....

What's the EXP track?

EDIT: Also, what's the point buy?

20 point buy, and not tracking xp, but leveling up as appropriate (probably every 3-4 encounters or fewer with good roleplay).

Well, Tequila green-lit my character idea, so I know what I'm building. What's everyone else gonna be playing?

Paladin/Cavalier : Older warrior who focuses more on tactics, knowledge and diplomacy over flat-out divine might. Probably taking the Standard Bearer Cavalier archetype since a horse probably ain't all that useful when spelunking.

Hope to pick up at least one more. A face/tank is good, and I really like Squinty's character concept. Excited to see it in action.

Just out on interest what class are you playing Squinty? I need to pick up a Teamwork feat and would like to choose something that benefits the party as much as possible.

Well, I won't be fighting, so those feats won't help, lol.

...well now someone else better sign up for this because I want to know what it is your planning.

Edit: Actually while I'm here is this taking place in any specific campaign world or should I just use the standard Pathfinder gods?

What I'm playing isn't actually very interesting, I designed a character who could specifically be support in the setting we were given. I'm very much going to be working on getting us out and alive, but not necessarily standing toe to toe in combat with you. Probably hiding.

Standard Pathfinder pantheon.
I love problem-solvey characters that don't always have to smash things with a +N stick of Description.

Just a heads up but I'm basically mechanically done. Just need to spend like a grand on mundane gear and fluff it up.

Why so secretive Squinty? Unless you homebrew, I can probably pinpoint your class after the first encounter.
I'm ambivalent about this. On one hand, I want to play in another campaign, and most things that pop up will probably 5E, which I don't feel like learning right now. I'e also wanted to try a Hunter for a little while, although I just learned that the two archetypes I want technically aren't allowed together.
On the other hand, I still don't like Pathfinder all that much, and the only flavor concept I want to play doesn't really work. Or, well, I guess it can work, but it's a bit of effort.

Because I prefer people to build characters they want to play instead of filling gaps in a party. That and people tend to metagame when they know what you're doing before they find out what it is your character is able to do.

What if I don't want to play something redundant?
And I mean this in general, not specifically from a mechanical standpoint. You witholding information about your character just generally gives me less to work with.

Anyway, Tequila: What is your stance on third party content? Dreamscarred Press and Radiance House, specifically. Meaning the conversion for Psionic characters, Tome of Battle and the Binder class from 3.5.

I could deal with it. A little extra bookkeeping, but I trust any of the community here if they wanna try out different stuff.

Hmm, in that case I guess I just have one more question before I try and make a compelling character:
Not having experienced it, how is combat in play by post? Getting ambushed in the night and spending the next week battling sounds a little exhausting.

Actually, I suppose I have another question:
Squinty, Garren: What do you want to focus on in terms of the storyline? If you want to go, say, heavy politics, then I probably want to know beforehand.
