I mean, we already have one story that uses branching timelines... Through the Eyes of Might-Have-Been, in Seasons of Dusk. And I did that by having it all take place in nested illusory timelines, sort of Inception-style.

We know of one character (Alessa Rehn) and one artifact (the name eludes me--an eye-shaped artifact up for vote now) that can see into the future. That could potentially be used to explain something like this.

I was more referring to the fact that the story will never be finalized as a finished product, because next week some branch could be updated. Maybe you only admit branches at a time ,but it doesn't seem quite right.

Ah, I gotcha. Hmmm, yeah, I mean, there could be some logical endpoint but it'd be pretty tricky.

Well, each level has twice the number of the previous, so....

Level 1 = 1 part, Level 2 = 4 more parts, Level 3 = 8 more parts....

And that's assuming the story branches into only two pieces per part added....

So, if there was a limit to 8 levels to the story....

1
2
4
8
16
32
64
124
248
496
----------------
995 parts

Huh, that is a lot.....

Yeah, even the poem I wrote, which is admittedly short, got complicated fast, and I even built in an over-lap to help. I'm not saying it's not doable, but it would be a complicated build.

Particularly since it would be at least partially undirected.

Eyes of Might-Have-Been got so complicated that I had to start mapping things out on paper to make sense of it all, and I was working entirely alone.

Still, if Barinellos's project goes well this might be worth trying.

It could be directed, though. I mean, I just threw out the idea, but it could work with a little direction.

You can never have too many dementia summoners. They're kinda like Vikings that way...

Go on.

Asher, dementia summoner who currently only features in Dominian Nightmares. Could use further stories, as well as a bit of touching up of his dossier.

Unless I'm completely misreading you and you're asking to raise the number.

Considering this is a shared account, you could very well be upstaging yourself here, and perhaps even arguing with yourself, since you've expressed desire to do that before.

Yeah Keeper, how do we know you're not just debating yourself at this point? It's almost like you're trying to maximize the potential confusion here.

I'm starting to think something strange is going on here. I may be summoning everyone to the accusing parlor soon...

Do you have degrees in murderology and murderonomy?

Yup, got 'em mail-order. To be fair, I might be a little late on my renewal payment for murderonomy, though...

This is extremely relevant to my interests. I shall have to check it out more in depth when I have the time.

I friggin love dementia summoners, and in fact roleplayed one in Terisia City on WotC for several years. Thanks for the link, I'm strill rather unacquainted with MEM but do wander through from time to time.

Jedi is still around if you have questions about the character. I wrote the only story to feature him, so I'd also be a good person to ask.
