So, it seems that we're going for the incremental release as suggested by our Good Ideas Director General 2013, Aaarrrgh:
Aaarrrgh wrote:
In light of recent conversation, I would suggest an incremental, thematic release. We release the cover image this weekend, while people are still in the Halloween mood. Then, we release the Harvest moon stories around Thanksgiving, because it's a harvest celebration, so it kinda fits. We release Hunter's Moon at the Midwinter solstice, and finally New Moon on New Year's Eve. That would still keep it thematic, but would give us a chance to finish it properly.

What hasn't yet been decided, though, is how to arrange the stories since some of them did not get accepted.

Θ Harvest Moon Θ
1) Childhood's End [D]
2) *Untitled (Skibo Poem) [H]
3) Bell, Book, and Candle [u]
4) Hinterland Within [W]
5) The Cellar Door [S]
6) *Nephalia Rains [N][G]
7) To Purge the Wicked [W][G]
8) Blessed Be My Guilt [G]
9) Creatures of the Night [V]
10) Dear and Decorations [u]
11) Through Darkness [G][D]
12) *Blasphemous Act [D]
13) Requiem For An Angel [N]

∩ Hunter's Moon ∩
1) Butcher's Cleaver [H]
2) Fury Without [W]
3) Danse Macabre [u][S]
4) *Thirteen [N?]
5) Crucible [H]
6) Allo's Fortnight [W][H]
7) Ill Met By Moonlight [D]
8) Hollow [G]
9) Night Watch [u]
10) *The Maid and the Gentelman [V]
11) Consummare [D]
12) Dear Namior [W]
13) Through the Eyes of the Specter of Might-Have-Been [H][u]

☼ New Moon ☼
1) Therapy [W][S]
2) *Cathar's Prayer [N]
3) Occurrence at a Moorland Manor [G][D]
4) The Unlife and Times of Gorin Halvarsson [u]
5) A Company of Death [V]
6) Justice [W]
7) *Rising Moon [N]
8) Un Bon Vein Rouge [V]
9) Truly Cured [G]
10) Falkenrath's Seat [V]
11)The Banker and the Geist [G]
12) *Parable of the Stars [N]
13) The Fateful Hour [H][u][S]

TPmanW has expressed interest in working on Un Bon Vein Rouge, so theoretically we'll be able to use it; though he hasn't really made it clear to me whether he's going to be ready any time soon. If he cant do it, we still have until New Years' to worry about it anyway.

We still have Sublunary and Getting Ahead to put in, but the specific order of the works after the substitution hasn't been clearly laid out, either.

The problem is I am so far divorced from the setting that I cannot suggest a proper order for the Anthology. The only thing I can really say is that we do have several possible emergency fall-backs on the off chance that we can't get the last bit straightened out by New Years'.

If anyone needs it, I can provide any of the 38 non-colored works

Okay, so apparently TPmanW can have his story ready in plenty of time, but that leave a few questions:
Will it still be in New Moon with the other drops?
Which Moon does Sublunary belong in?
Which Moon does Getting Ahead Belong in?
If neither fit in one of the gaps we have, how does that affect the ordering of the Anthology?

Frankly, I think we could just slid Sublunary into Harvest and Getting Ahead into Hunter, though for Getting Ahead I'd want to trade its position with Hollow, leaving us like this...

Θ Harvest Moon Θ
1) Childhood's End [D]
2) *Untitled (Skibo Poem) [H]
3) Bell, Book, and Candle [u]
4) Sublunary
5) The Cellar Door [S]
6) *Nephalia Rains [N][G]
7) To Purge the Wicked [W][G]
8) Blessed Be My Guilt [G]
9) Creatures of the Night [V]
10) Dear and Decorations [u]
11) Through Darkness [G][D]
12) *Blasphemous Act [D]
13) Requiem For An Angel [N]

∩ Hunter's Moon ∩
1) Butcher's Cleaver [H]
2) Hollow [G]
3) Danse Macabre [u][S]
4) *Thirteen [N?]
5) Crucible [H]
6) Allo's Fortnight [W][H]
7) Ill Met By Moonlight [D]
8) Getting Ahead
9) Night Watch [u]
10) *The Maid and the Gentelman [V]
11) Consummare [D]
12) Dear Namior [W]
13) Through the Eyes of the Specter of Might-Have-Been [H][u]

☼ New Moon ☼
1) Therapy [W][S]
2) *Cathar's Prayer [N]
3) Occurrence at a Moorland Manor [G][D]
4) The Unlife and Times of Gorin Halvarsson [u]
5) A Company of Death [V]
6) Justice [W]
7) *Rising Moon [N]
8) Un Bon Vein Rouge [V] ???
9) Truly Cured [G]
10) Falkenrath's Seat [V]
11)The Banker and the Geist [G]
12) *Parable of the Stars [N]
13) The Fateful Hour [H][u][S]

Excellent. Thank you much, Tevish. I'll defer to your plan unless someone suggests otherwise; though I suppose this is mostly for Keeper to organize the final document.

As I haven't had a chance to read all of the stories, and most likely won't in the next few weeks, I'm happy to follow Tevish' suggestion.

Did TPmanW get his revisions done yet?

Okay, I've finally managed to make the time to sit down and think about these as a whole anthology. In general, I am happy with Tevish's suggestion, but I have tweaked it slightly as a point of discussion. I will give my reasons for the changes, but feel free to disagree with me.

Θ Harvest Moon Θ
1) Childhood's End [D]
2) *Rising Moon [N]
3) Bell, Book, and Candle [u]
4) Sublunary
5) Danse Macabre [u][S]
6) *Nephalia Rains [N][G]
7) To Purge the Wicked [W][G]
8) Blessed Be My Guilt [G]
9) Creatures of the Night [V]
10) Dear and Decorations [u]
11) Through Darkness [G][D]
12) *Blasphemous Act [D]
13) Dear Namior [W]

∩ Hunter's Moon ∩
1) Requiem For An Angel [N]
2) Butcher's Cleaver [H]
3) Hollow [G]
4) The Cellar Door [S]
5) *Thirteen [N?]
6) Crucible [H]
7) Ill Met By Moonlight [D]
8) Allo's Fortnight [W][H]
9) Getting Ahead
10) Night Watch [u]
11) *The Maid and the Gentelman [V]
12) Consummare [D]
13) Through the Eyes of the Specter of Might-Have-Been [H][u]

☼ New Moon ☼
1) Therapy [W][S]
2) *Untitled (Skibo Poem) [H]
3) Occurrence at a Moorland Manor [G][D]
4) The Unlife and Times of Gorin Halvarsson [u]
5) A Company of Death [V]
6) Justice [W]
7) *Cathar's Prayer [N] -
8) Un Bon Vein Rouge [V] ???
9) Truly Cured [G]
10) Falkenrath's Seat [V]
11)The Banker and the Geist [G]
12) *Parable of the Stars [N]
13) The Fateful Hour [H][u][S]

Changes:
I swapped Rising Moon with Skibo's untitled poem because I thought the tone of skibo's worked better in New Moon than Harvest, and vice versa for Rising Moon. I do think they can work either way, though.

I swapped Tevish's two stories "The Cellar Door" and "Danse Macabre." This was a chronology issue, as we see Lur as an older man in Cellar Door, but a young man in Danse Macabre. That is not necessarily a big deal, but I don't think the tones of the pieces absolutely necessitate being in one moon or the other.

This is actually my biggest issue, and the one I'll argue for the most, I think. I really prefer "Requiem For An Angel as the opening piece of Hunter's Moon. At the same time, I think Dear Namior serves better as a conversion piece, wrapping up Harvest and leading into Hunter. Therefore, I moved Dear Namior up into the 13th slot of Harvest, and Requiem down to the 1st slot of Hunter. This pushed everything else in hunter down one.

I flipped "Ill Met By Moonlight" and "Allo's Fortnight" for two reasons. Firstly, I wanted to keep "Ill Met at the half-way point, because I love that Tevish's three Adrianna pieces appear at the beginning of one section, the middle of the second, and the end of the third. Secondly, I think the tone of "Ill met" leads very well into that of "Fortnight."

With Skibo's untitled flipping with Rising Moon, I decided to switch Cathar's Prayer (which I think might turn some people off, simply by being a sestina) and Untitled, which reads much easier than Cathar's Prayer.

I can provide them all (sans TPMan's story) if you'd like, but it would probably have to be links to the google docs. I hope that's okay. That is if you would like to read them all in the first place.

I would like to read them, but I very seriously doubt I'll have time to anytime soon. For now, I'll have to trust that Raven and Tevish know what they are talking about.

I'm good with this... EXCEPT for the Cellar Door/Danse Macabre swap. Danse Macabre is, chronologically, the earlier story (as Lur is dead after Cellar Door -- but Cellar Door is hurt by knowing who and what Lur is before going in, while when you start reading Danse Macabre, he's transparently a skaberen to the reader, and those there's no "surprise" that's lost by reading it second. If anything, I think it's a bit stronger only learning what he's on about later, AFTER you've seen just how far he goes.

I'll fight this one tooth and nail because I really think that Cellar Door is badly, badly hurt by being read after its "prequel", and because the moons they are initially put in are where they fit: in Cellar Door, the ending is bittersweet, since Laurie emerges with her identity if not her body and the villain is dead. In Danse, "the bad guy wins" -- Lur has gone off the deep end and out other character is dead

With that change rolled back but the others preserved, the list would look like this...

Θ Harvest Moon Θ
1) Childhood's End [D]
2) *Rising Moon [N]
3) Bell, Book, and Candle [u]
4) Sublunary
5) The Cellar Door [S]
6) *Nephalia Rains [N][G]
7) To Purge the Wicked [W][G]
8) Blessed Be My Guilt [G]
9) Creatures of the Night [V]
10) Dear and Decorations [u]
11) Through Darkness [G][D]
12) *Blasphemous Act [D]
13) Dear Namior [W]

∩ Hunter's Moon ∩
1) Requiem For An Angel [N]
2) Butcher's Cleaver [H]
3) Hollow [G]
4) Danse Macabre [u][S]
5) *Thirteen [N?]
6) Crucible [H]
7) Ill Met By Moonlight [D]
8) Allo's Fortnight [W][H]
9) Getting Ahead
10) Night Watch [u]
11) *The Maid and the Gentelman [V]
12) Consummare [D]
13) Through the Eyes of the Specter of Might-Have-Been [H][u]

☼ New Moon ☼
1) Therapy [W][S]
2) *Untitled (Skibo Poem) [H]
3) Occurrence at a Moorland Manor [G][D]
4) The Unlife and Times of Gorin Halvarsson [u]
5) A Company of Death [V]
6) Justice [W]
7) *Cathar's Prayer [N] -
8) Un Bon Vein Rouge [V] ???
9) Truly Cured [G]
10) Falkenrath's Seat [V]
11)The Banker and the Geist [G]
12) *Parable of the Stars [N]
13) The Fateful Hour [H][u][S]

Also, I think we should title the untitled skibo poem. Call it by its first line, if nothing else.

I thought you might have a problem with the Cellar Door/Danse switch, and I'm perfectly fine doing it your way. I can certainly see your point, so yeah, let's do it that way.

Incidentally, I agree about Skibo's poem.

Since I never caught the things when the Anthology was in its infancy, I read through everything alphabetically -- that's important because for some reason google docs don't exclude "the" when organizing alphabetically, so I read Danse Macabre first.

I definitely agree with you on the surprise/suspense bit. The entire time I read The Cellar Door, I was waiting for Lur to reveal himself. It definitely took out the proper atmosphere for me; though I will still say that I absolutely loved the ending -- I would love to hear more about... Laurie, you say? (I cannot remember almost any name from the Anthology at this point [except Norin from Therapy {and that's obviously because of another famous Norin}].)

How about Allo? He was titular. (I love saying that.)

Oh, right, of course. That was just the only name that I could recall off-hand, without any hints.

Just teasing. Actually, apart from my own characters and a few of Tevish's, I would be hard-pressed to name characters off the top of my head, too. And honestly, even my own would be a little difficult, especially since there are so many names dropped in Fortnight. Off hand, I can name Allo, Hask and Stout, and I think there was a Rint, or something.

Hey, TP, your story is set to appear in New Moon, which gives you until the end of December to finish it. Would that be possible?

Don't kill yourself over it, though! I mean, we're in this because we love it, right? If it doesn't have any positive feelings attached to it, I don't think it's worth it.

Oh, it's definitely worth doing, and we have all the pieces, save for TP's revision. It's just, you know, life and stuff. Plus I think Lord Luna sort of burned himself out a bit there, but he'll be back.

Yeah, I mostly meant that towards Keeper. I know that we as a group still enjoy what we do here.
