Welcome to the third Gauntlet of Elations!

The first two of these projects took place over at the WotC boards some time ago, and I've now decided to revive them here at NGA.

Over the next 72 hours, I invite the YMtC community to submit criteria for which I will create card designs. These designs shall become Elations. There are three rules:

- You may only supply one criterion throughout the 72 hours. So make it a good one.
- Each criterion must be for a single design: no cycles or any of that jazz.
- No Un- criteria.

Other than that, hit me with your best shot!

Create a Rare top-down creature card based on a mythical being or beast whose creature type has never before been on a Magic card. Can be either a historical myth or a modern culture invention. Include flavor text!

Create a single card that mechanically and functionally represents a group of individuals. This could be as small as 3 fighters up to an entire army.

:duel:

PS: wait only one criteria in the 72 hours? awful. I'll do something better.

Create a red card depicting an artist / artwork on a plane where the appreciation of art is no longer practiced.

Think of the worst pun imaginable, then creature a card whose name is an even worse pun than that.

make a card that could be part of both a horizontal and a vertical cycle. explain briefly which pieces of the card would be part of which cycle. (you don't have to imagine that the set the card is in actually has both a horizontal and a vertical cycle around it, just that it could plausibly support either.)

That is literally impossible.

Hmmm, only one criteria. Thinking multicolour ally but I'll get back to you on that.

Magic is full of tribes and full of lords. But something magical happened when Tempest came out- we got a tribe of lords. Slivers were a mindblowing concept when they first debuted. But they've been done to death and already have a bunch of legendary super lords. But since slivers came outwe've been blessed with two new tribes that approximate their lordliness. These tribes- the allies and the changelings have no apparent king.
Your mission should you choose to accept it: Make a legendary lord for Allies or Changelings. Or I guess both if you choose changelings. You know what I mean. Just make something I could build an ally or multitribal edh deck around.

Man. I wish WotC had embraced EDH at the time. We would have totally gotten these in their appropriate blocks. But nope. And poor allies got completely dropped from Rise of the Eldrazi, which sucked harder.

Anyways, cool criteria.

Make a new card type for a supplemental product, then forget about it because the actual criteria is to make a 1 mana blue creature.

Make a card that combines two old mechanics in an interesting way, like Sprout Swarm.

Take a race usually connected to one color, and make one for an enemy of that color. (A black angel, for example. But don't do that, there's already been a few Black Angels.) Should cost at least 5.
