Another old one, don't remember the name

Grapeshotshot - :3::r::r::r:
Sorcery
~ deals 1 damage to any target.
Stormstorm (When you cast this spell, copy it a number of times equal to the square of the number of spells cast before it this turn. You may choose new targets for the copies).

Best Belgian or Joseph I ever met. Also the spider avatar is a cool tribute to classic magic.

Also yes*, but I wasn't going to brag about it.

*Yes as in "no".

The first cards i designed i never posted but i printed them out and played with friends in high school. They were of course, a bunch of mythical gods. I think I also designed a bunch of sharpie equipment. Like "black sharpie" equipped creature is black and has protection from black. idk

This sounds rather fun, Lily!

My first designs were not good. I paid too much attention to the innovation and fairness, and haven't paid much attention to elegance, simplicity, and restraint. I think once I realized that those things are overwhelmingly impotrant, I got a little better. Or maybe a little worse, from a certain point of view?

I still hate stuff like that, though:

You have to start seeing rarity as part of the mechanics like cost.

Yeah one is more powerful but the tradeoff is you get more Deadly Visits than you do this card.

Being common in limited is a mechanical advantage that keeps it from being strictly worse.

Bleaugh. Of course. "See, it's harder to get yourself an assault rifle than a bat, the chance is lower, you know. Therefore, in a fight, a bat is just as strong as an assault rifle!"

I've heard that they've actually released a new version of the forums. This one actively tracks and murders users in decreasing order of "goodness as a person".

My first ever card design is lost to the old Mothership forums, but I do remember my first ever Magic forum post. I was asking if a blocking Giant Spider could be killed by something like Elvish Skysweeper. (This was before reach, back when it could "block as though it had flying.")

Here's my earliest NGA card design, but I'd already had a bit of experience at this point:
Soul's Hubris
Instant (C)
Target creature gets +X/-X until end of turn, where X is that creature's power.
An avatar he sculpts of fear and malice.

[5] Red and white or blue creatures you control have +1/+7 and can block while tapped.
[-13] you get an emblem with "the first spell you cast each turn is uncounterable, has storm and shuffles your opponents library."
starting loyalty {2}
this should be legendary and you're missing some two-brid mana in the cost
