Does anyone have any good article about what rarity cards should be at?
I'm about to reread "New New World Order" and "Nuts & Bolts: Higher Rarities" but they are 5 years old and I was wondering if there is anything recent that I am missing.

and they said the correct answer was uncommon, not rare? such ****

they said it'd be rare if it were all creatures your opponents control instead of just three, but honestly, with most board states, what's the difference

That is exactly what prompted my sudden desire for some recent reading material on the subject.
That and the question from GDS2 where a Flying Haste creature is common but a Lifelink Haste creature is uncommon.

Just fyi, literally everybody who turned in ten essays that were within the acceptable word limit passed the first round. They aren't going to be reading 3000 people's essays.

The multiple choice test is the big cutoff since it's incredibly easy to grade. Then you do trial 3, which is the design section, which is supposed to cut to the top 8.

They only actually read your essay if you pass the multiple choice and do well on the design section. The essay is sort of the "tiebreaker" for people with similar quality designs because only 8 people can pass the third trial.

..aaand I confused proliferate with propagate. So thats -1 :(

I have this hypothesis that the winners of the second round will be largely random. I mean, terrible people won't get in, but if the number of questions you can get wrong and still pass is less than the number of questions that make a person go "WTH are you even talking about, Maro? How does anyone who doesn't already work for your company know this?" or "Gee, whether threaten effects are common or uncommon seems to be a 50/50 split dependent upon the context of the entire set! Also, who designed this trainwreck of a card?"

...then what's getting measured is how lucky your guesses were on those questions.

if you answered common on the threaten question i think you deserve to get that one wrong

theres no way that a multicolored threaten effect that grants 3 separate abilities is common

it's probably an uncommon though there is a reasonable argument for rare as well

I was torn between uncommon and rare. Honestly, don’t even remember what I decided at the end.

The card was RG, though. Right? If so, it made the following question difficult - the one about “which single aspect of the card would the team not be able to make without changing the colors - did you guys pick sorcery -> instant?

I think that one was a trick question. I picked haste-> double strike because the card would then be useless.
