Welcome to the fourth installment of Pro Tour: You Make the Card, the spiritual successor of You Make the Card Idol from years past, and the most prestigious fantasy fantasy card design contest to have ever graced these forums! This is your chance to test your skills as a Magic: the Gathering card designer against those of the rest of the forum, and prove you're a master of innovation, elegance, flavor, and other hallmarks of excellent card design. Take the crown in this contest, and you'll join the ranks of the YMTC legends, including Ephemeron, tyranno6, zammm, Dream Spinner, and others, and be immortalized in YMTC history.

Current Standings


Round 6

This round's criterion is simple, but should allow for a wide range of evocative designs. Create a card that depicts a journey, path, quest, or realization of some goal. There have been many creative and evocative cards in Magic's history with this theme that intersect mechanics and flavor in very cool ways.

You have one week from today to post your submission. I'll be closing the round on Friday, 12/1 at 1:00 PM Central Time. Best of luck!

Judges, please note that I'll still be expecting rankings to be submitted by the Thursday of the following week. This round will need to be pushed somewhat to stay on track, but I'd rather accelerate on the judging end than on the designing one.

Remove three quest counters from ~ and sacrifice it: Shuffle your library, then reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost.

As long as you control 10 or more basic lands, you have no maximum hand size.
When you control 15 or more basic lands, you win the game.

Idk if I'll keep the last line of text, feels like it litters the textbox unnecessarily, although I like its effect coupled with the mill-loss prevention of the second line

Whenever a Human enters the battlefield, put a quest counter on Quest for the Last Halo.
Whenever a Human dies, you may pay . If you do, exile it and you gain life equal to the number of quest counters on Quests for the Last Halo.
, Exile Quest for the Last Halo: Return target creature card exiled by Quest for the Last Halo to the battlefield under your control with a halo counter on it. That creature is an Angel in addition to its other types and has lifelink, flying, and indestructible. Activate this ability only if your life total is 40 or more.

At the beginning of your upkeep, put a meditation counter on Meditative Misdirection. Then, if there are five or more meditation counters Meditative Misdirection, sacrifice it. You gain control of target opponent during their next combat step.
