You all probably know about the BCP by now, so I'm not going to explain it. This is a vote for which recurring mechanic we want in the set. The poll will close on Tuesday.

I have to say, transmute looks like the most interesting to design around. Onslaught block did a good job on cycling, and buyback just doesn't do enough to be interesting.

I voted for cycling and buyback. Transmute is a fine mechanic, but there's not a lot of space for it to go (unless we raised up Transfigure).

Buyback is repetitive, not to mention that nobody actually suggested it.
Cycling is already done enough, and isn't that interesting of a mechanic.
I'm going to need some convincing before I'll accept Transmute, it really only works in black and blue.

Could be willing to vote for Spellshapers.

...I think we need to get more mechanics to choose from, and some examples if how they would work in the set. This is sorta halfhearted and rushed.

It depends on how you flavor it. There's nothing really Blue/Black about Transmute.

Giants' Forge
Enchantment
Transmute Sacrifice an artifact

Sacrifice an artifact: add to your mana pool.

A rough design and far from perfect, but Transmute has a cost that you can play around with.

Library manipulation and tutoring is generally in the Bu spectrum of things.

Transmute while interesting, seems like a bit of a pain, especially in limited. Also, I don't know how much design space there is for it.Transfigure would have been more workable I think. Either option leans the block towards combo gameplay. It could make limited quite bombcentric- just grab a bomob and a couple transmuters to act as backup copies.

Cycling's always fun and it fits the flavour. It would be nice to find a new twist on it, but I don't know if it's really necessary.

Buyback is, well, I just don't like it. It's probably the single most repetitive mechanic in MTG. I have to admit though, that it does fit the flavour.

Oops, missed splice. Sorry.

Yinglung: it was far from rushed. I left submissions open for a few days extra because I wanted more ideas.

It was rushed, in that the mechanics were not discussed or elaborated on before being put in the poll. Although, if the poll thread is where such discussion is meant to take place, I would be wrong in saying the poll was rushed.

Also, I change my vote from transmute to splice.
