You've done it.

You've finally achieved all of your dreams.

You have an internship at Wizards of the Coast designing magic cards. Your mother is so proud of you.

Years of blood, sweat, and a jaw-droppingly specific variety of nerdy obsession have got you here. Everything has been leading up to this moment. You submit your first card designs to the Great Scions of Card Design, childlike wonder in your eye. In three days' time, a man in plum velvet robes leaves a letter on your doorstep. You pick it up, trembling.

Great job! These designs are pretty fun!

As you read the letter the voice in your head is surprisingly high-pitched, but effervescently cheerful and somehow commanding.

You realize only one person could have written this.

But I couldn't help but notice you forgot to put on the commons! Send those along and we'll get started...

Cheers!
MaRo

You tremble.

You shudder.

You haven't designed a common in THIRTY YEARS.

The next day at work, MaRo inquires as to your missing commons. Shaking with nervousness, you confess. At first, MaRo seems disappointed. Then saddened. He lays a hand on your shoulder.

"Well, bud, I'm sorry to have to do this, but ... we're gonna have to send you to the Gopher Hole."

"The what?" You blurt, before a hole opens up in the floor beneath you. Life flashing before your eyes, you tumble down into....

THE GOPHER HOLE

I'm fully aware that went on too long, but I was having fun.

You and several other R&D interns, lacking proper common design skills, have been dropped into THE GOPHER HOLE. Here resides the RUSHIN GOPHER (not an employee of Wizards, doesn't speak with a Russian accent; he just kind of lives in the hole).

Your only way to escape: BY DESIGNING COMMONS. About twice a week (ish?) the Gopher will contrive criteria for card designs, which all have only one thing in common: the last word of the independent clause which preceded this dependent clause.

All players will start at ROCK BOTTOM. Shamelessly ripping off Dudibus (unless Dudibus minds, in which case I will shamelessly come up with an inferior game scoring idea), each week will give you the chance to ascend to a slightly higher tier in the Gopher Hole. Your goal: to escape to the land of flashy rares and 70-words-of-rules-text mythics! But no one's quite sure how deep the hole is, or how far you have to climb....

Da Rules

DAWN OF THE FIRST DAY CRITERION:
Design a standard playable green common which would not warp limited. It may be any CMC or size. It'd be nice if it had some flavour.

OPTIONAL CRITERION:
The set you're designing this card for is a return to everyone's favourite limited environment: Innistrad! Do with that what you will.

Search your library for a basic land of a type you don't control and put that land onto the battlefield tapped. Then shuffle your library.
You see one field, you've seen them all.

Well, let's give this a try then.

Camouflage |
[Enchantment - Aura] (C)
Flash, Enchant Permanent
As long as you control an untapped forest, enchanted permanent has hexproof.
Amazing what people will fail to notice if you put some leaves and branches over it.

Bursting Infester

Creature - Fungus (C)
3/3

When Bursting Infester enters the battlefield, sacrifice a creature.

When the symptoms show, it's already too late.

@Cato you need to explain what the ability does on a common. Monstrify also isn't a thing, so you should define it anyway

Let's say that the version of Inistradi Invasion (Return to Innistrad tested poorly as a name because everyone thought it was a rip-off of Return to Ravnica) I saw (Since we're making probably vastly different cards that might not neccessarily fit in the same set I'd assume we're all from different universes which meet at the Gopher Hole) needs a Green common creature. But because they are doing Two-color Archetypes in every set, it also has to support the Green/Black archetype. The Green/Black archetype are the heaviest users of Morbid (It was such a popular mechanic that the people working on the set would probably be crucified if they didn't bring it back) and black/green cards represent various cryptids (Mostly European, but a few non-European ones slipping in), usually with a darker twist.

So, I need to make a Green common that supports Morbid and has a flavor connection to a cryptid or cryptid archetype. Between Yetis and Uril, Homanids have been done before, but there is still some room. While taking some of these homanid traits, I also decided to use ABC's (Alien Big Cats) for this.

Unknown Wanderer
Creature - Cat Beast
, Sacrifice ~: Untap two target lands.
Escaping even the Wulfir, the only proof of the Uknown Wanderers are odd claw marks and villager's paranoia.
2/1

It sacrifices itself which helps enable Morbid, as well as untapping land to allow you to use spells with Morbid. I'm a bit unsure about this one. It's a cheaper Argothian Elder that can only be used once and doesn't have the help of being an Elf, it sacrifices itself to make up for being a bit stronger than Voyaging Satyr on the one use. Maybe I'll take out the tap, or maybe that would push it up to Uncommon, I'm not sure yet.

Can you tell who way overthought this?

White Stag
Creature ─ Beast (C)
Undying (When this creature dies, if it had no +1/+1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control with a +1/+1 counter on it.)
Whenever White Stag dies draw a card.

Pst. I'm gonna be charitable and recommend checking out a gatherer search. Note how many commons with Undying or Soulbond have no reminder text.
Wizards's use of square brackets has reduced me to using the code function

Code:
http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&format=+%5B%22Innistrad%20Block%22]&text=|[soulbond]|[undying]&rarity=+[C]

Corpse Grass
Creature - Fungus
Corpse Grass gets +1/+1 as long as a creature is in a graveyard.
You'd be forgiven for tending it on weekends. Such are the horrors of life.

@Cato, it's COST: Monstrosity N.

@Alt, Menace is tertiary in Green so a monogreen common that has menace probably isn't a good idea. Same way there aren't many common monogreen creatures with haste (They are either awaken or suspend which bend the pie on granting haste for the sake of player's sanity, need red, or are from Planar Chaos). I'd suggest adding a cost of to Menace.

Also, funny how this is about a return to Innistrad and return to Innistrad was revealed today.

I meant monstrosity. I don't remember words. Can you please leave the judging to the judge tho?

I'm not judging, I'm giving help so you can fix up the card a bit before it gets to judging time. And besides, I'm just pointing out that you have your wording a bit backwards. Judging would be talking about it's power level or whatever.
