I'm in the middle of grading PT and one of the designs made me remember how awesome Reliquary Tower is. Basically, they took a bad artifact and turned it into a land, making it fundamentally better in every way. Thing is, there are hundreds of Magic cards that cost 1 mana or less that really don't deserve to be cards on their own. But making them into lands sure sounds interesting. So that's the game. It won't last long, but it'll produce some cool lands.

To reiterate: Design a Land that's a recreation of a spell in Magic's history with a CMC of 1 or less. Preferably the card should (a) be bad and (b) be cool as a land.



Feldon's Canyon

I went through all the 1 cmc cards in the game and all the 0 cmc ones too and they're mostly pretty bad for this.

Dimir Signet <=> Darkwater Catacombs says this works best with artifacts that cost . Also, Fellwar Stone <=> Exotic Orchard and the Talismans <=> the painlands.

Forgotten Library <=> Mind Stone further illustrates this concept.
