Pretty much the changes I'm making, but MFW I see Expertise over Languish in a build like this...

None of this solves a resolved tutelage, I think serious mages still need a white splash.

I wanna see this Esper tapout thing you teased. I'd assume there's Reflector Mage and Spell Queller in there, but for the life of me I can't see other non-mythic value stuff outside of Green.

Splashing white for Anguished Unmaking, Nahiri; and Sorin off the hubs and a plains is easy peasy, and trivialized by maps. I did that last set already, but I wanted to look at the list like this first.. for some reason I find just a forum page or an excell sheet more readable than deckbuilder, although actually tossing cards together in deckbuilder is quite nice. You can probably just cut the counterspells and 1 Glimmer. Just be careful with the lifeloss; maybe 1 Nahiri 1 Anguished is best. Tadaa !

Creature(5)
2 x Thing in the Ice
1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
1 x Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
1 x Torrential Gearhulk

Instant(15)
3 x Fatal Push
3 x Harnessed Lightning
1 x Anguished Unmaking
1 x Blessed Alliance
1 x Unlicensed Disintegration
3 x Glimmer of Genius
3 x Telling time

Sorcery(7)
2 x Radiant Flames
1 x Yahenni's Expertise
2 x Baral's Expertise
2 x Dark Intimations

Planeswalker(4)
1 x Jace, Unraveler of Secrets
1 x Chandra, Flamecaller
1 x Nahiri, The harbinger
1 x Sorin, Grim Nemesis

Artifact(5)
3 x Renegade Map
2 x Dynavolt Tower

Land(24)
1 x Wandering Fumarole
2 x Sunken Hollow
3 x Island
2 x Swamp
2 x Mountain
1 x Plains
2 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Sulfur Falls
2 x Dragonskull Summit
4 x Evolving Wilds
3 x Aether Hub

No no no, it is still very esper control, no need for all those warm bodies. You tap out for walkers and expertise. Don't worry, I'll be rolling with it this time next week.

Those seals wont club themselves.

On the pale grixis front, is it asking too much to get blessed alliance in there? The lifegain is needed to support bones and unmaking.

From Kaladesh experience with the deck, I got by with only Kalitas, Sorin, and Noxious Gearhulk, using 2 unmaking.

I did not run RTB in that version though, and even though our manabase and removal has gotten better, so has direct damage from aggro.

So you could potentially go down a sweeper, like Kozilek's return (mainly in for expertise to hit Mid-rangers) for another lifegain effect.

I have another question:

What do we cut for Baral ? Thing ?

Can't we just cut RtB for something less painful like Telling Time? I don't understand running RtB in a deck that has access to Blue.

It's the new control thing Fel, you cast an expertise and jizz in your pants. Then you get shocked.

Thing seems obvious, but am having trouble making Baral worth it in mental Magic. I have to play with the card.

Had some test matches vs Coexist on Cockatrice. Fel is SO SO SO very right about cutting rtb for telling times. I had to fade multiple drawsteps at 3 life whilst sitting on 7 cards vs his rdw build, because I had kept a t3 rtb hand. He couldn't keep a hand or topdeck anything but burn. I had ways to discard him or kill anything he played as my hulk smashed him down. Without the RTB I would be at 5 instead of 3; way less stressful :D

This was the game where he was on draw btw. He just murdered me with a double temper hand when he was on play.

I'll probably get laughed out of the thread for this but.. in my control lists, Gideon's Reproach was very nice vs aggro.. and it kills Heart of Kiran/4 toughness dudes. How was Fatal Push in testing? Was it good without being able to trigger Revolt? Probably vs RDW.. won't need to trigger Revolt very often.

The fatal push was very good in the games we played

I'm sure it was vs RDW.. I'm interested to see how consistently it is able to hit 3 and 4 drops in a control shell like this. Basically.. assessing if it's a decent topdeck later on.
