Wow, actually seems... quite good. Either a 3 mana 2/1 that draws 2 cards, or a 3 mana 3/2 that draws a card, or a 3 mana 4/3. If merfolk want to be a thing in standard then they need to be aggro and they need to be able to draw (and draw past any useless lands they run into.)

If this comes down and rips 2 land it's not the worst, since you're more likely to draw gas next turn, and hey at least you have mana for a 4 drop next turn. If it comes down as a 3/2 it's a slightly worse Rogue Refiner, losing out on the energy but gaining a relevant subtype, and if it comes down as a 4/3 then it's just getting in and smashing face next turn.

Not sure any Merfolk deck has room for more 3s. The
GG colored req. are tough as well.
