For everything that is not directly related to the game.

Lets make official too. Every person has 3 days to post, Sundays don't count. If he does not post, it is assumed he passed his turn and the next player automatically is on his turn, unless the person actively asks for more time.

I will try to link every period, event and scene for bookmark, so we should agree in some pattern.

My suggestion is:

Type

Brief description that will go on the timeline

Actual content

- x - x - x -

For focus of this round, we should start with the beginning. I choose the first focus to be the exodus.

So, I just want to mention that I really don't know the rules at all. How exactly do the whole light/dark things work, and what is the final goal of the game?

Really not important. The rules are very simple.

First the unbreakable rules:

No one owns anything in the history. It doesn’t matter who created something: when it’s your turn you can do anything you want with it. The only limits to your creativity are:

- Don’t contradict what’s already been said.
- Make sure what you add relates to the current Focus.
- Don’t use anything from the No column of the Palette.

Continuing:

Each turn you select one thing to create. It can be a new period, event or scene. Or you could choose to build over an existing one. Periods contain events and events contain scenes. Scenes have a different set of rules, but I can explain that later.

The tone is more or less a guideline. It is not fixed on stone, you can create a dark tone event inside a light tone period, for example. Only the majority must be light ones. And as the rulebook says the tone depends on the referential.

The goal is to bring the story from point A (beginning) to point B (end). As soon as the majority is satisfied with the result, it ends.

And by the way, I forgot the tone of the event.

About scenes.

You can create 2 types of scenes: RP or Non-RP.

Non-RP scenes work the same as periods or events. RP scenes are more complicate though.

If you choose to create a scene, you are nominated the scene GM, but everyone can participate. The GM makes a question. Answering that question is the purpose of the scene. Then the GM chooses the characters that must participate and the ones that are banned.

Every player chooses a character. You can choose to create your own character, but all characters named by the GM must be picked first.

You can control more than one character, but you cannot control other named characters. For example, you want to slap someone. You don't slap it. You move to slap it. And that player decides if he will take the slap or not.

I think that covers most of the rules. That are others, but they are not essential.

I will PM Urzamax saying that it is his turn. But if he doesn't answer until tomorrow, just assume he passed and proceed with the game (being Aaarrrghs turn).

Yeah. It works.

Just remember to add the tone (light I believe) and the description that will go into the timeline. I will update the timeline as soon as the round is finished.

Also it happened before the power plant construction.

I would make it this way.

Event (Light)

Brief description to go into the timeline

In order to construct the power plant, they first had to make a way to travel safely outside of the water, leading to the creation of an apparatus allowing an individual to absorb oxygen from the air and add it to a water circulation system contained in a suit worn by the individual.

We play in turn order, but the content of your post doesn't need to be in order. The focus is supposed to be the "theme" of the round that all posts must relate even if tangentially. It changes from round to round.

And with my post the round is over. Theoretically TPmanw could choose a Legacy, something we wants to pursue when it is his turn to be the Lens. But there is not much to go on.

Now it is the time for Urzamax to be the Lens and choose the focus.

He is still disappeared though. Let's give him three more days, otherwise Aaarrrgh can be the new Lens and we will start to look for a substitute.

Come on, guys!

I don't want to keep poking for people to move. If you don't see anyone posting in three days, just assume the queue walked and if it you are next, it is now your turn.

Currently it is Aaarrrgh's turn. He is the new Lens. He can choose the Focus and this turn he starts and closes the round.

Sorry, I currently have very little internet access (I'm writing this from my phone), but I'll try to get something up soon. It will probably be from the phone, and thus not properly formatted, but I'll do something.

No problem the format is the least important aspect.

While I remember, here are some more things about the game. You cannot offer suggestions or question players choices, but you can ask for clarifications and if you think some situation can lead to catastrophic consequences you can ask for a Push, same as change of action if the majority agrees, mainly to be used at RP scenes, but it can be used anywhere.

Other thing is during a RP scene you can choose to be the Force (I believe is called this way). A group of characters that act as one character and are subjected to the same laws. For example, an army. Only one player can be the Force at any scene and normally when is required to force the other players to act. For example an army invading a castle where the other characters are.

I hope I did the focus thing right. The point is that it doesn't all have to happen in order, right?

Right! The fun part is in trying to connect the dots from the big picture.

Question:

Second generation of ships or aliens?

Question: when you say three people are awake, do you mean three per ship or three total?

Lets say 3 per ship.

We can have more characters to use if necessary.

Just reminding that it is the turn of Aaarrrgh again, to close the round. TPmanw lost his turn this round, but he will be the Lens next round.

I hope he resumes playing, at least he posted somewhere else in this forum in this time.

I still have a lot of questions about the rules.
Is there a set turn order? - I was waiting for somebody else to go before I took my turn, but apparently I didn't need to.
Can anyone change the focus? At any time?
Who gets to determine if a scene is light or dark and how strictly do we have to stick to the established tone?
The difference between an event and a scene eludes me. Could somebody explain?

1- Yes, the turn order is set. It is always the same: True_Believer, Aaargh and TPmanw in a circle.

2 - Yes, the focus is changed every round, but only the Lens can change the focus.

3 - You decide. It is not set on stone, so you can choose. Sometimes I think a scene is neutral, so I choose almost randomly if it is light or dark.

4 - It is like the magnification of a microscope. A scene is to be considered the greater magnification. It can have sometimes blurred lines. So you choose whatever you think is right, if people disagree with your choice, they can ask for you to change it.
