The poll is now open and will run for two weeks, you can only vote once

Here are the rules : Using the system of your choice stat out a fixer.

heres the definition of fix from tvtropes.org :

A con crew role, the Fixer is, if you will, the stage manager for the crew. Maybe "properties (props) director" or "set designer" would be better analogies. Either way, this is the person the Con Man goes to if he needs a thing to do his thing.

If you've seen the movie Inside man this is Jodi foster's character. (someone who gets called in to solve problems for the wealthy or gain more favors.) Don't forget a back ground too

You have from August 11th to the 23rd of august to post your character ( I say the 11th to allow two days of questions)

So the fixer is someone who gets you the things you need or sets up a situation you need to get a job done?

Examples of The Fixer Trope

  • Sam in Burn Notice, he provides Michael with the tools he needs to do his work, as well as using his many "buddies" to get info from legal channels. Unlike most fixers, Sam actually does do fieldwork too.
  • Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck from The A-Team does this, but like Sam Axe above, he also gets his hands dirty.
  • In the movie Inception, this could describe either the architect (who creates the mental landscapes they go into) or the chemist (who makes the drugs they use for an inception or extraction).

Either will work, and as the last contest the community will vote just be sure to put which system you used for your creation

Make sure to label it as such and if there's an ability that isn't easy to understand from it's name kindly explain it. And I also plan to include a charcter

Are people really this scared of linking to tvtropes?
Anyway, can I interpret it as essentially anyone with a proactive profiency that isn't given screen-time? Because it feels more like this is a personality trait. Say, in D&D, the closest I could think of would be a person with item creation feats, or skill points in forgery, areas of knowledge or gather information, but any adventurer can have that.

Yes on the tvtropes :P I did say you can say it's an NPC or a PC cuz I can think of a number of builds in D&D 3.5 that could fulfill this role. I also didn't put a level cap due to not all systems being leveled base.

By adventurer I meant someone who actively participates in the foreground. Gathering knowledge is probably a possible "Fixer" role, but I wouldn't call the bard in your adventurer a "Fixer", because he actively participates in the scenes. So to me, it sounds like an npc task, but maybe I don't get the whole picture (in which case I'd wager to say it's too broad).

It would depend on what the bard does and if it sounds like an NPC then make an NPC that best reflects what you think...I can't really explain easier than what's been tossed out. Maybe BH can do a better job...
here's the urban dictionary's definition :

The man or woman who knows where to get items of dubious legal status. A mixture Fence, Scalper, and Concierge. Managers, Handlers, Fixers, and Gofers all do basically the same job.

Fate Accelerated

Mephistopheles is a demon from the Eighth Circle of Hell. He preys on the weak-willed by offering them fleeting power in exchange for eternal damnation. You might know him from that nice play they wrote of his exploits a while back. Today, in the rampant sin following the First World War, he has set his sights upon a certain thief of renown - a female American bank robber legendary for her exploits. No matter what extravagant favors she asks of the demon, he knows that the terms of their contract bind her immortal soul to Hell in the end... or do they?

Mephistopheles a.k.a. Manny Falls
A well-dressed businessman with an oily black suit and a cigar in his grinning teeth.

Sneaky +3
Careful or Clever +2
Forceful or Quick +1
Flashy +0

High Concept: Demonic Trickster with an Angle
Trouble: Sorry, Ma'am, That's Not in the Contract
Older Than Hell and Then Some
Power Over the Hearts of Men
Whatever You Want... But It'll Cost Ya

A Finger in Every Pie: Once per game, when meeting a human NPC for the first time, I can declare that Mephistopheles has already met that NPC and bound them to a contract. The terms of the contract are up to the GM.
You Humans are All The Same: Whenever Mephistopheles meets a human NPC for the first time, the GM has to tell me one of their aspects.
Let Me Turn Your Life Around: Mephistopheles gets +2 to Sneakily Create an Advantage, but Advantages he Creates can only be invoked by someone else.

No. I just prefer that sort of relevant data be present in the thread itself ...and the OP was a bit lacking. Especially considering the issue with coming up with a fixer that actually works...I figured it best to have as many examples readily available as possible.

Lysander Graves, Information Broker

Lysander Graves runs a curio shop which serves as a front for his real business: buying, selling, and trading information and secrets. In a large city like this, everyone who's anyone has dirty little secrets and there's always someone willing to trade them for cold hard coin. To most of his clientele Lysander is a thin, greasy, middle aged human with a crooked smile and very few people at all know that he's actually a changeling with half a dozen identities. He has contacts throughout the city but is never afraid to simply hire a bit of muscle to do some of the dirty work.

The PCs likely meet Lysander when one of his contacts directs them to his shop either to buy or sell goods, and from their he attempts to offer them a job where he'll pay in exchange for services rendered. Being the snake that he is, he'll attempt to pander to the groups good or bad side accordingly by playing up how morally right the job would be or how much payout it could mean for everyone.

Once the party is more properly acquainted with him, Lysander will continue to hire them to seek out snippets of information, to cause distractions so that his other agents can accomplish their goals, or if applicable to 'deal' with competition or people who might leak otherwise valuable information.

If at any point the group decides to engage Lysander or when they discover that he has been using them his stats are as follows. It its most likely that he will have allies on his side in the encounter in the form of those in his employ or even those currently in his debt. In combat Lysander seeks to let his allies rush in first so that he can
