Last Week's Winner

Poll won't be closing until this evening, and it's a close one.
Rush Clasic lived and let last's week competition die.

Why did it evolve to hide when it has no predators?

The Rules

How To Nominate:
Quote the post with the card you want to nominate. Delete everything in that post other than the card. Copy and paste your quote into a post on this thread.
If you did it right the quote tag should link to the original post.

What's Eligible?
Any fan-designed M:TG card posted since the most recent CotW thread went live is eligible. It doesn't even have to be the first time the card was posted. Yes, Un cards are valid. No, Yugioh cards are not.

What's Not Eligible?
  • Nominating your own cards. You can only nominate cards by other people
  • Nominating a card from your own repost, regardless of whether or not the original post was yours.
  • Nominations that result from collusion. If a nomination is made in exchange for some sort of favour, or under some sort of threat, then the nomination is void.
  • Cards that have already won CotW are not eligible for future CotWs.
  • Nominations that I consider to be jokes or trolling.

A Note On Contests:
Many contest holders feel that having an entrant nominated for CotW will skew the results of their contest. To prevent this while still allowing those cards their chance at nomination, any card submitted to a contest is eligible for nomination to CotW as though the date the contest (or pertinent round of the contest) ended was the date the card was posted.

strangely I think the hellion is a better designed card than the shade, despite ranking them the other way
I like Break the Gears better than its previous iteration.

Colossal Chameleon
-Oh hey is that a Chameleon Colossus reference? I love the ability and chameleon flavour. That cost and those stats are an awkward fit for the ability though, necessary as they were for it to be colossal.

It That Wakes The Earth
Appropriately apocalyptic. Could be annoying to go up against, but then it's an 8 drop that does nothing for a turn.

Farwing Thunderbird
I really like this phoenix mechanic, and it's cool to see one in white. How haven't we at least seen a red and white phoenix in MTG yet?
The tapping feels unnecessary and abusable.

Break the Gears
A card with this ability already won CotW once. That makes this less exciting but not objectively speaking, any worse.

Dreamscape Shade
Elegant, but somewhat underwhelming. I don't think I'd play this unless I really wanted to go through my deck in a hurry. Feels like a trap. Might be better with evasion or a scaling draw ability.

Strongarm
This is hilarious. Also potentially a trap, but this is the kind of card you want to play despite, maybe even because of that.

Traverse the Multiverse
Sorcery
Kicker — Remove three loyalty counters from a planeswalker you control.
Exile all lands you control, then search your library for that many land cards, put them onto the battlefield tapped, and shuffle your library.
If Traverse the Multiverse was kicked, you get an emblem with ": Exchange all lands you control with all land cards you own in exile. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery and only once per turn."
