The Rules

How To Nominate:
Quote the post with the card you want to nominate. Delete everything in that post other than the card. Copy and paste your quote into a post on this thread.
If you did it right the quote tag should link to the original post.

What's Eligible?
Any fan-designed M:TG card posted since the most recent CotW thread went live is eligible. It doesn't even have to be the first time the card was posted. Yes, Un cards are valid. No, Yugioh cards are not.

What's Not Eligible?
  • Nominating your own cards. You can only nominate cards by other people
  • Nominating a card from your own repost, regardless of whether or not the original post was yours.
  • Nominations that result from collusion. If a nomination is made in exchange for some sort of favour, or under some sort of threat, then the nomination is void.
  • Cards that have already won CotW are not eligible for future CotWs.
  • Nominations that I consider to be jokes or trolling.

A Note On Contests:
Many contest holders feel that having an entrant nominated for CotW will skew the results of their contest. To prevent this while still allowing those cards their chance at nomination, any card submitted to a contest is eligible for nomination to CotW as though the date the contest (or pertinent round of the contest) ended was the date the card was posted.

Libe is killing it this week. I move to disqualify him from CotW so that the rest of us can stand a chance.

Why is Cavern of Wonders a joke submission? It's honestly my favourite of the bunch. It can give you a discount, but it can also not hit anything, and it sacrifices itself. Only suggestion would be something, like entering tapped, that would restrict it from working on the turn it comes down.

Cross /to/ Bear is pretty good, and my second-favourite submission.
Strip Mining is neat. Best case scenario it's a Night's Whisper that doesn't cost you any life, and worst case, it's a higher-priced One With Nothing. I personally don't care for random, and this has all the potential to be the worst kind of random.
Scorched Lair is pretty cool, and a generally difficult to set up restriction. I say generally because of Changelings. On another week, this could've won.
Nonoke is way too strong, as the abilities allows the spells cast to chain off themselves.
I wish Porch Lamp was instead of , but that's not a big deal. I think this could work better if it just tracked whenever a creature card left your own graveyard so it could work off of exile-from-graveyard effects too. Lots that can be done with this style of card, but I think the direction chosen here was one of the less-effective ones. Refinement of the card likely would've caught this.

Because it's a repost of a card made by the person that nominated it, unless changing Cave to Cavern is a sufficient degree of distinction.

See Mown's post. Except that I additionally posit that adding a rarity may have made it eligible as well (mine lacked a rarity).

Yeah, if Cavern of Wonders happens to get the most votes then the win obviously goes to Edacade.

It's irrelevant, because Porch Lamp is going to win, but still.

I don't know. A card I made with the intention of being an obvious spin on Reassembling Skeleton/Tenacious Dead won a CotW. Never underestimate the power of flavor.

There was also that one really bad Jump variant that won simply because it had strong Disney's Aladdin vibes. Guess where I got the inspiration for my card? :V

Yeah, sounds like Cavern Of Wonders is inelligible. I can't take it out of the poll without reseting things though, so it's staying there until the end.
Also of note, my two nominations are tied for last place. I have the powers of curse I tell you!

You may pay rather than pay the mana cost of spells that share a name with a card exiled by Codex of Mishra.

You may have Vesuvan Angel enter the battlefield as a copy of a creature on the battlefield.
4/4

If your opponent doesn't have a large beater on the board, this card is actually really good. Just how modular it is kind of makes it too good though, but I have a soft spot for midrange creatures like this.

Ah well, all we have to do is not vote for him, right?
