Not sure where to put this, but I was just watching Hakeem928's latest video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xna9Yhx1BB0 (Gwent), and he mentions his "deck tracker" (pen and paper) several times, and how other players would call him a scrub for using it.
My question is why?

I would think that a top tier player, or even just a good one, would keep track of what works and what doesn't against various opponents, or am I missing something here?

I'm mostly just talking to the ghost of mobius. He makes fun of me for not doing the tracking internally.

As for tracking itself, I think it's great. I'm crippled and I need a crutch, don't judge me!

There's internal tracking in Gwent?!

Wouldn't dream of it, I was just wondering why it would be considered scrubby.
I play my console fps'es with aim assist when possible, and if I thought it would help, I'd also deck track in digital card game if I thought it would help me (I'm not a very good player to begin with). No need to handicap myself.

Sounds like Mobius is more of a scrub actually:

Quote:
The scrub has lost the game even before it starts. He’s lost the game even before deciding which game to play. His problem? He does not play to win.

The scrub would take great issue with this statement for he usually believes that he is playing to win, but he is bound up by an intricate construct of fictitious rules that prevents him from ever truly competing. These made-up rules vary from game to game, of course, but their character remains constant.

... and keep those videos coming young man

I'm hardly young, and another video will be live in a few minutes.

@mown, yes, training wheels are awesome. Don't judge me.
